Boycott Campaign in U.S. Sputtering Out

Boston.com, the online edition of the Boston Globe, has made a gallant, but failed, effort to show that boycotting of Israel is gaining steam in the U.S.

The article in question, published yesterday, begins as follows: “In May, rock legend Elvis Costello canceled his gig in Israel. Then, in June, a group of unionized dock workers in San Francisco refused to unload an Israeli ship. In August, a food co-op in Washington state removed Israeli products from its shelves. “

Each of these “examples” deserves individual attention. The “food co-op in Washington state” is actually a small, two-store concern, both of whose stores are in one city – Olympia. The little company made headlines by demanding that Israel accept the PA position in its entirety. Click here for a detailed analysis of the co-op’s stance.

The dock workers who “refused” to unload the Israeli ship actually were not there when the boat arrived; a group of protestors had arrived to stop the unloading of the ship, but they succeeded only in blocking a Chinese ship from being de-cargoed; when the Israeli ship arrived several hours later, the local union followed rules by not ordering night shift workers to unload it. It was unloaded uneventfully the next day.

Costello, who made headlines at the height of his career in 1979 when he used racist profanities to describe black singers Ray Charles and James Brown, canceled his two summer appearances in Israel after tickets had been sold – even though the so-called “intimidation and humiliation of Palestinians in the name of [Israel’s] national security” about which he complained had not changed from the time he signed the contract for his Israel appearances. On the other hand, Elton John braved a call by British academics to cancel his performance in Israel, following other international stars such as Paul McCartney, Madonna, Leonard Cohen, and others.

In short, though Boston.com’s Farah Stockman writes that “the so-called ‘boycott, divestment, and sanctions’ movement aimed at pressuring Israel to withdraw from land claimed by Palestinians” is now showing signs of “picking up momentum,” this conclusion should be taken with a dollop of salt.

New Meds Could Stop Cancer by Cutting Off Its Blood

Researchers at Tel Aviv University are developing a new family of medicines that could provide preventive treatment for cancer, or turn existing cancer into a chronic disease that one can live with for years.

Details of the study, which was conducted in the laboratory of Dr. Ronit Satchi-Fainaro of the Physiology and Pharmacology Department in the Sackler School of Medicine, will be published in the September 2010 issue of FASEB Journal – the Journal of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology.

The study is based on the idea that doctors can prevent a cancerous tumor from growing bigger by damaging the process of angiogenesis – the formation of new blood vessels that provide the tumor with oxygen and nutrients.

The researchers tested the efficacy of innovative polymeric carriers designed to deliver medicines directly to the cancer cells. In this way, the medicines do not harm healthy tissue and the amount of medicine required is significantly reduced, as are its side effects.

The carriers were developed by Dr. Ronit Satchi-Fainaro, Dr. Paula Ofek and colleagues at Berlin University. They were connected to a siRNA-type gene-suppressant and injected into laboratory mice with cancerous tumors. The results were very encouraging: the carriers took the siRNA directly to the cancer cells, and the compound passed through the cell walls and silenced the target genes, without causing the poisoning symptoms that usually accompany cancer treatments.

The researchers now hope to do the same thing with siRNA that can silence a gene that plays a key role in angiogenesis.

Dr. Satchi-Fainaro said that this kind of treatment could revolutionize cancer therapy. People who are not sick but are at high risk of developing cancer – like former cancer patients or carriers of certain genetic mutations – will be able to receive preventive treatment. In people who have cancer, the medicines will keep the tumor in a state of “hibernation” and turn the cancer into a chronic disease that can be managed for many years, while maintaining a high quality of life.

Iranian Website Denies Holocaust Using Anti-Semitic Caricatures

A new Iranian website has launched, dedicated to denying and mocking the Holocaust, particularly through caricatures. The website, holocartoons.com, has unsurprisingly angered Israel — and is actually relatively consistent with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s views.

The website — which can be viewed in Farsi, Arabic and English – features several cartoons and dedication to those who died “under the pretext of the Holocaust.” The Pink Panther theme music plays in the background.

The Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial Centre in Jerusalem called the website “the latest salvo emanating from Iran that denies the facts of the Holocaust and attempts to influence those who are ignorant of history.”

From a statement issued Thursday:

“The vulgar and cynical approach of the website, a combination of Holocaust denial and distortion, illustrated with anti-Semitic caricatures, further illustrates Iran’s disregard for reality and truth vis-a-vis the Holocaust, Jews and Israel.”

Ahmadinejad has expressed anti-Semitic and anti-Israel views numerous times in the past, and caused a stir when he called the Holocaust a “fairy tale” in 2005. Iran’s clerical regime has “repeatedly questioned or denied the Nazi genocide of 6 million Jews” and the country has hosted a conference “endorsing Holocaust denial.”

On the more technical side, the website has painfully slow loading times, testing the patience of its visitors. Salon’s Judy Mandelbaum argues that this is what will prevent the site from becoming a problem:

If you can endure the excruciating loading times and then commit to slogging your way through all the primitive, intellectually insulting drawings and boneheaded texts without nodding off, then maybe, Houston, we really do have a problem. But let me suggest that if this is the best Tehran can throw at the supposedly defenseless West, we can leave Houston to its own devices for some time to come.

68-Year-Old Arrested for Child Pornography

(AP) 68-year-old Frank Weltner is facing child pornography charges after police searched his Saint Louis home on Thursday.

The St. Louis authorities began an investigation that led to a search warrant being executed at Mr Weltner's residence at 6937 Bruno Ave and police seized several laptops and computers from the suspect’s home.

During the initial data review, hundreds of images of child pornography were located within the confiscated devices belonging to the Weltner, said Sgt. James Harrison.

Frank Weltner has been charged with several counts of possession of child pornography as well as accessing child pornography. The cyber crime analyst unit is continuing with the investigation of the data.

Weltner was released on bail on Friday, and is scheduled to appear in court on a later date. If convicted he could face up to 10 yrs in prison.

Weltner is also known for being the owner of the controversial website JewWatch.com as well as a member of the National Alliance (a white separatist organization).

Members of the St Louis Police Dept, began the investigation in May, which involved a broad monitoring of the public domain of the internet. As well as monitoring of the suspect’s home, which led to his arrest.

It’s not clear whether Weltner also engaged in sexual activity with minors, but authorities have thus far refused to comment, due to the ongoing investigation.

Israel Developing Switch To Make Computers 100s of Times Faster

(IsraelNationalNews.com) - A new nano-based technology being developed at Tel Aviv University will make computers and the internet hundreds of times faster.

Dr. Koby Scheuer of the university's School of Electrical Engineering has developed a new plastic-based technology for the nano-photonics market, which manufactures optical devices and components. Reported in the journal Optics Express, his plastic-based “filter” is made from nanometer-sized grooves embedded into the plastic. When used in fiber optics cable switches, this new device will make our communication devices smaller, more flexible and more powerful, he says.

“Once Americans have a fiber optics cable coming into every home, all communication will go through it –– telephone, cable TV, the Internet. But to avoid bottlenecks of information, we need to separate the information coming through into different channels. Our [new] polymeric devices can do that in the optical domain ― at a speed, quality and cost that the semi-conductor industry can’t even imagine,” Dr. Scheuer says.

Every optical device used in today’s communication tools has a filter. Whether it’s the drive reader in your MacBook or the cable that brings cheap long-distance phone calls to your home, each system uses filters to clean up the signal and interpret the different messages. In the next decade, fiber optic cables that now run from city to city will feed directly into every individual home. When that technology comes to light, the new plastic-based switches could revolutionize the way we communicate.

“Right now, we could transmit all of the written text of the world though a single fiber in a fiber optics cable in just a few seconds,” says Dr. Scheuer. “But in order to handle these massive amounts of communication data, we need filters to make sense of the incoming information. Ours uses a plastic-based switch, replacing hard-to-fabricate and expensive semi-conductors.”

Semi-conductors, grown on crystals in sterile labs and processed in special ovens, take days and sometimes months to manufacture. They are delicate and inflexible as well, Dr. Scheuer explains. “Our plastic polymer switches come in an easy-to-work-with liquid solution. Using a method called ‘stamping,’ almost any laboratory can make optical devices out of the silicon rubber mold we’ve developed.”

The silicon rubber mold is scored with nano-sized grooves, invisible to the eye and each less than a millionth of a meter in width. A plastic solution can be poured over the mold to replicate the optical switch in minutes. When in place in a fiber-optic network, the grooves on the switch modulate light coming in through the cables, and the data is filtered and encoded into usable information.

The new technology is in development stages and may not be on the market for some five to ten years.

His biggest hurdle, says Dr. Scheuer, is in convincing the communications industry that polymers are stable materials.

“There is a lot of prejudice in this industry against plastics. But this approach could take us to a new level of communication,” the researcher says. He also notes that the process is not much different from the way that mass numbers of DVDs are produced in a factory –– except Dr. Scheuer works on a nano, not a “giant” micro, scale.

His device can also be used in the gyros of planes, ships and rockets and inserted into cell phones. The new breakthrough device can even be made a part of flexible virtual reality gloves so doctors could “operate” on patients via computer networks over large distances.

A lot of us on YouTube are petitioning Google to remove videos by white supremacist David Duke, which have increased with an alarming rate over the last few months. Most of the emails I have sent to Admin have basically been ignored, and so far YouTube has done nothing to remove this individual from our community. Hope springs eternal, though, and perhaps the YT gurus will respond to our requests sometime soon.

It seems Duke's fan club, made up of every insignificant, aging xenophobe on the planet who can manage to straighten out their arthritic fingers and muster up the strength to reach his or her computer keyboard, is fanatically dedicated to putting his views out there, and equally dedicated to removing and blocking every voice that dissents from David Duke's personal point of view. Some of Duke's pernicious video offerings include rants that vilify the Jewish holidays of Chanukah and Purim.

I was looking at one of Duke's video pages, and I noticed that he seems to be talking to people in the comments section who don't seem to be there. Then I realized Duke, or whoever is running his channel if he himself isn't - is selectively removing any negativity or criticism posters may make about him in order to put the aging white supremacist in the best possible light. I don't fault him in the least - after all, Duke is still suffering from severe anemia in the public relations department.

I really don't care if David Duke is on YouTube talking about how his racial heritage is slowing eroding away, or that his white European people are being assimilated at an "alarming rate", or that his culture is being passed up while minority groups get the spotlight for advancing in areas of arts, sciences, and other endeavors. He is free to whine and complain all he wants. It's when he singles out a speciific group he thinks is ultimately responsible for keeping his people "down".

Would you like to hazard a guess as to which group Duke thinks bears responsibilty for all his white people's ills? In fact, I'll give you three guesses, and the first two don't count, O.K.?

David Duke has made a career and a living off of denigrating minority groups, and the latest people in his sights are my people, the Jews. Mind you, Duke has always loathed Jews, and on occasion in his youth has turned to other pastimes, such as spitting on Mexican immigrants or hanging African-Americans, but Duke has always held a special hate in his heart for myself and my tribesmen. He recently moved out of the U.S. to Salzberg, Austria, where he is the guest of one of his wealthier benefactors, who no doubt has an autographed portrait of Adolph Eichmann hanging above the fireplace in his "Tribute to the Waffen SS" rumpus room, right next to the glass-cased, mummified body of Hermann Goering's pet gerbil. If you look closely enough, you can still see where the fur was ripped off the poor creature's body removing the duct tape.

But I digress...

Duke, like most of his comrades on the Hitler pep squad, suffers from another malady - an anemic lack of judgment. The guy just doesn't get it - people don't like him or his views, and that includes American colleges and universities. They, like most others, think he's a vile, racist publicity-seeker with a bad haircut. The former Grand Dragon was betting on the notion that academia would somehow develop long term amnesia and forget his racist days of running the Klan. Duke lost the bet.

Thus the move across the pond to the country which had the misfortune of spawning one of the most homicidal monsters in history. Duke, when he's not enjoying the splendor of the Austrian Alps, travels to the Ukraine, where he is a "professor" at the private Ukrainian Interregional Academy of Personnel Management or MAUP, as it's know by it's acronym. In 2008 MAUP received the honor by the U.S. State Department of being, in their words, "one of the most persistent anti-Semitic institutions in Eastern Europe" which receives "a significant portion of its funding from Arab and Muslim states". MAUP's critics claim the institute exibits "traditional antisemitic propaganda traits that have no connection to Zionism, such as religious antisemitism or solely blaming the Jews for the Russian October Revolution or the Holodomor of 1932-1933. MAUP was apparently the only institution that would give Duke some sort of tenure.

On June 3, 2005, MAUP sponsored a one-day conference entitled "Zionism As the Biggest Threat to Modern Civilization" attended by Duke. The Ukrainian newspaper the Kyiv Post called the gathering - quote: "a disgusting orgy of racism and hatred". Two months later, MAUP awarded Duke with a PhD. and gave him a faculty position. Can anyone say "diploma mill"? Duke no doubt submitted a draft of his anti-semitic screed "My Awakening" as his final paper - just slap a fancy cover on it, and it was ready to go.

And to think I wasted all those years in school.

Longtime White Supremacist Gets His Comeuppance

Richard Barrett, a longtime white supremacist leader, anti-Semite, and Holocaust denier who generated more publicity than influence, was found dead April 22nd in his Pearl, Mississippi home, apparently the victim of a homicide.

According to news reports, firefighters discovered his body in a bathroom after neighbors reported a fire at Barrett’s home around 8 a.m. Few details have been released about the incident, which is under investigation by local, state and federal authorities.Barrett, 67, had a long history of denigrating minorities, particularly blacks, Jews, immigrants and gays. In recent years, Barrett ran an online forum for racist skinheads.

Barrett's death shows a marked trend in retribution against white supremacists. It comes literally on the heels of the stabbing death earlier this month of South African White supremacist Eugene Terreblanche, leader of the neo-Nazi Afrikaner Resistance Movement. Terreblanche was bludgeoned and stabbed to death with clubs and a machete in an attack at his farm near the town of Ventersdorp in South Africa's North West Province.

I doubt many tears will be shed over Barrett's departure from this mortal coil, especially by this writer. People in general get fed up with these hate mongers, who abuse their 1st Amendment rights while wrapping themselves in the American flag. For someone like myself who is a veteran, I find it nauseating that Barrett spent the majority of his post-military life trying to upset the fabric of our democracy, something I fought to protect.

Hate has it consequences, sometimes violent. It may be long in being dealt out, but eventually, it catches up to the perpetrator, whether it's a long federal prison sentence, or in Barrett's case, a slab at the morgue.

"Liberty and Justice For All"...the last sentence of the Pledge of Allegiance. My hope is that dream will continue to be realized in America. Justice certainly was realized in the case of Richard Barrett.

The Developmentally Disabled Duo

You have to hand it to YouTube's ersatz fuhrer, John Alan Martinson of the One World Nazi Party - he sure knows how to make an entrance, or in this case a re-entrance. His new channel, "VoiceofVenomRadio", which launched onto YouTube on - you guessed it - April Fools Day, is supposed to be the social networking repository for all of the make-your-ears-bleed screechings that are cranked out by Martinson's internet radio show of the same name.

Jammy - who currently goes by the moniker "Dev Samael Daval" has, by returning AGAIN, clearly violated YouTube's terms of service, which states clearly a person can't come back after a suspension. Maybe Martinson suffers from the same disability of illiteracy as another YouTube wannabe fuhrer, Scott Roberts, who apparently is unable to read and understand YouTube's community guidelines either.

For this latest round of YouTube Account Jeopardy, Jammy Jr. - I mean "Daval" - has teamed up with another nut job, the James Von Brunn understudy Adam Austin, another fine, upstanding (and also recently suspended) member of the YouTube Idiots Bund. Austin is the fouled-mouthed neo-nazi cretin that runs the web site Subverted Nation, and if you've had the chance - and the misfortune - of visiting this internet cesspool of a site, you know how much Austin just loves the Jewish people. You'd think you'd need to start stuffing cotton balls in your ears, but no need - only dogs can hear the particular decibel level of whining this pair of mysanthopic misfits is doing - it's enough to shatter glass.

All we need now is for Scott Roberts to join Voice of Venom, and it would a real conspiracy trifecta from hell.

As for Austin - he's been a little pissed off as of late. Apparently, no reputable publishing house would touch his recent literary venture called "Basic Training for Revolutionaries", so he was forced to make it available as a PDF download and beg for donations. Apparently even white supremacist company Noontide Press didn't want it, it stunk so bad.

What's wrong with these people? Why do they find it so difficult to adapt and assimilate into normal society? Why do they reject rational thought and sink deeper and deeper into the tar pit of conspiracy theory? To truly understand these people, who on the surface, appear normal, even highly intellectual, you have to understand the mind that has been infected by irrational conspiracy theories.

Anti-Semitic conspiracy theorists like Martinson, Austin, and Scott Roberts violate all laws of logic and reasoning, two things that are essential in order to engage in rational discourse. Forget peer review - they have no peers except for their fellow conspiracists who believe the same distorted things they do. Scientific or historical knowledge? Respectability of sources? Nope. They ignore history and their sources are as flawed and bigoted as they are. They can't tell a good theory or source from a bad one or good evidence from bad evidence. So forget trying to engage any one of them in a rational discussion - it isn't going to happen, because they're not rational in the true sense of the word.

Hopefully, YouTube and Google Admin will soon take matters in hand, and this recent Storming-of-the-YouTube-Castle by Austin and Martinson will be short-lived, and they'll be stuffed back in their cages (hopefully this time Federal ones) where they belong.

Jordanian organ trafficking suspect held in Yemen

SANAA — A Jordanian suspected of trafficking in human organs has been arrested in Yemen as he attempted to fly to Egypt along with seven of his "victims," the interior ministry said on its website on Saturday.

"Security forces in the capital arrested a Jordanian organ trader named Ramzi Khalil Abdullah Farah who was trying to travel to Egypt along with seven Yemeni victims," the ministry said.

It said Farah was wanted for allegedly recruiting people to sell their kidneys, and that the seven Yemenis, aged between 20 and 45, were "on their way to Egypt after being persuaded by the Jordanian trader" who advanced them money from the proposed sale of their organs.

The ministry website did not say how much was reportedly paid to each person. Yemen is the poorest country in the Arab world.

The World Health Organisation considers Egypt, where hundreds of poor people sell kidneys or parts of their livers every year, to be a centre for organ trafficking.

Parliament in Cairo adopted a law to regulate organ transplants and limit trafficking in late February.

According to the United Nations, hundreds of poor Egyptians sell their kidneys and livers every year to buy food or pay off debts.

Jihad Jane Sidekick Charged in US Terror Plot

(IsraelNN.com) A second American woman, 31-year-old Jamie Paulin Ramirez, has been charged with conspiracy in the alleged “Jihad Jane” plot to murder Swedish cartoonist Lars Vilk. The artist's caricature of the founder of Islam, Mohammed, sparked protests and violent riots by Muslims around the world in 2007.

Ramirez turned herself in to the FBI at Philadelphia airport after flying in to the United States from Ireland, where she had been released by police on similar charges hours earlier.

The suspect, a resident of Colorado, was charged with conspiring with 46-year-old Colleen LaRose, also an American citizen, known in online forums as “Jihad Jane,” to murder Lars Vilks. LaRose pleaded not guilty in a Philadelphia court last month on charges of recruiting Islamist terrorists.

She allegedly recruited Ramirez in August 2009 through the Internet, inviting her to join her group at a location in Europe at a spot “like a training camp as well as a home.” The purpose, she said, was to “participate in and [act] in support of violent jihad.”

Ramirez was alleged by US officials to be a traveling companion to LaRose and having left the country in September with her six-year-old son. The charges include conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists.

LaRose faces life in prison if convicted on the charges, as well as a one million dollar fine. Ramirez, who also was alleged to have married an unnamed co-conspirator on the day she arrived at “terror training camp,” could face up to 15 years in prison if convicted.

Rabbi David Yosef Attacked in Mexico

(IsraelNN.com) Israeli rabbi, Rabbi David Yosef, son of former Chief Sephardic Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, was attacked in Mexico City on Saturday night. The anti-Semitic attack occurred as the rabbi walked near the Shaarei Shalom synagogue in the city.

The attackers approached the rabbi in a vehicle and began shouting anti-Semitic slurs. They also threw eggs at the rabbi and his companions.

The rabbi was accompanied by guards provided by a local Jewish security firm, who managed to shield him from the eggs and from an attempted physical assault. The rabbi was hit in the attack but was not injured, his companions reported.

The attackers were frightened off and ran away, with the guards in pursuit. They were apprehended a short time later. Local Jewish leaders expressed shock at the incident.

Rabbi Yosef, whose father is the Shas party spiritual leader, is in Mexico to strengthen the Jewish community there following the death of Moshe Saba, a major figure in the Mexican Jewish community.

An Open Letter to Holocaust Deniers

January 27th was International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Separate from Yom Ha'Shoah, the Holocaust Remembrance Day on the Jewish calendar, It was designated by the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 60/7 on November 1st,2005 during the 42nd plenary session.

On January 24th, 2005 during a special session, the United Nations General Assembly had previously marked the 60th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration camps and the end of the Holocaust which resulted in the annihilation of 6 million European Jews and millions of others by the Nazi German regime.

January 27 is the date, in 1945, when the largest Nazi death camp in Auschwitz-Birkenau was liberated by Soviet troops.

The following is an open letter I wrote to all Holocaust deniers.

Dear Mr. Holocaust Denier:

If the Holocaust was indeed a hoax, who, specifically, was responsible for it? I will qualify my question by adding that just saying "the Jews" is not an adequate answer. I want to know - which Jews? Just saying "Zionists" is not adequate. I want to know - which Zionists? I want names - I want dates. I want the who, what, when, where, and why! But, above all, I want evidence to show that these people actually perpetrated this "hoax”. Are such questions all that unreasonable? I don’t think so.

After all, Mr. Holocaust Denier - it's you who are arguing for a conspiracy that would have to be on a scale so massive and so secretive, that nothing like it had ever been seen before or has ever been seen since. How could the logistics of how such a massive "hoax" could possibly be pulled off - much less kept secret for over 60 years - human nature being what it is? A massive conspiracy to INVENT a historical event and then catalogue it in such detail is unprecedented in human history, don’t you think?

I'm sure that other people reading this are very curious about the details. Are you suggesting that perhaps all these people got together: Jewish reporters; the New York Times; and the lawyers of Jewish organizations and fabricated the Holocaust, then forced the Allied nations - Britain, France, the United States, the USSR, and the rest of Europe - to falsify evidence, plant bodies, and fabricate documents? Are you serious? Do you even realize the massive undertaking it would have been?

And then I assume that this Jewish reporter, the New York Times, and the lawyers of “several Jewish organizations” created a shadowy unit of enforcers to KEEP the governments of Britain, France, the United States, the USSR, and the rest of Europe in compliance with this fabrication, as well as penetrating academia to force them to go along with it as well? Are you sure this is the best you can do? I'm just curious where this diabloical scheme was hatched, and who carried it out.

I would ask to to please present YOUR narrative of what really happened in Europe from 1933 to 1945, and explain to me who organized the Holocaust, and how it was done? If such a great effort was made to forge documents, make people disappear or be silent, and create whole faked atrocities, faked photos, sham trials, coerced confessions, phone eyewitnesses, and so on, who did it - specifically? Where are the hidden operators who performed all these feats?

Who directed this campaign? Where was it based? Which authority? Since this conspiracy has held over 60 years, how was it passed down from generation to generation to ensure continued compliance all around the world? Who were the Canadian, British, French, New Zealand, Japanese, and Falkland Island authorities to ensure continued compliance? How were all the wartime Nazis and their descendants kept silent for 60 years? How were those who took part in the conspiracy kept silent?

What about their families and descendants? Where is the paper trail for this conspiracy? How was it accomplished without a single memo? And finally, if this conspiracy is so complete, so well-organized, and so perfect, why did they leave so many holes? Why didn't they forge the written order from Hitler to Himmler and other important documents? Why did they fail to wring confessions out of so many key Nazis?

Mr. Holocaust Denier, please feel free to give a detailed account of how a group of people, no matter how powerful, could manipulate the rest of the world's population into believing that a genocide of such proportions had taken place. What methods had they employed to hoodwink free-thinking individuals? Such an undertaking would have to be intrepid indeed to convince a single country. How had it been able to convince a host of other nations as well?

Even if it was possible, how had they been able to maintain complete secrecy? How was it that they had not suffered a single defection? An individual who, perhaps due to a disagreement with "the group," might opt to break ranks after 60 years and expose the whole shabang? Imagine the chat show invites; the fabulous book deals; the wealth and status that such a person could attain for finally offering up proof positive of the biggest historical hoax EVER perpetrated! Was this ring of conspirators totally void of greed and desire for fame and fortune?

Why didn't they notarize Anne Frank's diary, or better yet, keep her alive to say, "Yup, I wrote this?" Why did they let Bormann disappear and Eichmann and Mengele escape to Argentina? Why did it take the Israelis 25 years to find Eichmann, if they control the world? Why did they let Himmler, Ley, and Goering kill themselves without leaving behind a full confession? Why didn't they get one out of Rudolf Hess?

If the whole thing was to create a State of Israel subsidized by American dollars, why did they do such a lousy job, creating a truncated state surrounded by hostile neighbors? Why didn't they simply have Israel invade and conquer the whole Middle East, take over the oil supplies, and ensure high prices for the oil barons and bankers?

The shadowy figures who forged the Wannsee Protocols, the Einsatzgruppen reports, Himmler's Posen speech, etc., are first class hoaxers? The even shadowier persons who tortured Hoess and forced him to concoct a story about mass exterminations in gas chambers are terrible hoaxers? The people who tortured Eichmann and made him give ridiculous testimony to the Israeli courts are at least as bad? The people who bribed every single AR SS staff person tried in West Germany are slimy hoaxers deserving our contempt?

Israel Cracks Down on Anti-Zionist Foreigners in Samaria

(IsraelNN.com) The IDF cracked down on the Palestinian Authority’s sheltering foreign anti-Israel protestors and entered Ramallah on Sunday to arrest two women accused of being involved in “illegal riots that interfered with Israeli security operations.”

The PA charged Israel with violating agreements giving it self-rule. However, the same agreements allow Israel to act when its security is endangered. The IDF explained that the two women, Arianda Jove Marti of Spain and Bridgette Chappell of Australia, have been involved in riots protesting the separation barrier.

The women, both of them in their 20s, are activists of the pro-Arab International Solidarity Movement (ISM) and were officially charged by the IDF with remaining illegally in Israel, where one of them entered on a temporary tourist visa and the other on a fake visa. The ISM admitted that the visas were not valid but charged that the women did not break any law.

An ISM activist said that about a dozen soldiers arrested the two women early Sunday morning as part of an intensive campaign to prevent a spread of violent demonstrations that have resulted in dozens of injuries to soldiers as well as Arab and foreign protestors, many of them anarchists.

Last month, Israel deported a Czech woman who also was arrested in Ramallah.

Bill Clinton Praises IDF Haiti Hospital

Clinton mentioned the hospital at a round table session on philanthropy held Thursday at the International Economic Forum at Davos, Switzerland, in which Israeli President Shimon Peres was also a member of the panel.

Addressing Peres as the audience looked on, Clinton said: “Shimon, I don't know what we would have done without the Israeli hospital at Haiti. The Israeli hospital was the only operational facility which was able to perform surgery and advanced tests.”

Clinton added that “in the name of the aid workers that operated in Haiti, in the name of the people who live there, and on a personal level I want to thank, we all want to thank, Israel from the bottom of our hearts.”

Peres responded by saying that “Israel will be happy to offer all of its abilities in assisting the rehabilitation of the island.” After the plenary session Peres met with Clinton and the two discussed in detail the ways in which Israel could assist the international effort in Haiti.

Additional participants in the plenary session included Melinda Gates, co-founder of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; Jimmy D. San Francisco Zionists Cow Anti-Israel Protestors

(IsraelNN.com) The first anniversary marking Operation Cast Lead, this week saw a surge of anti-Israel demonstrations – often billed as “Gaza Freedom Marches” – taking place throughout the Arab and Western worlds. But one rally in San Francisco, a city infamous for political activism hostile to the Jewish state, was met with an unexpectedly assertive Zionist counter-protest.

San Francisco Voice for Israel, a local pro-Israel group affiliated with the StandWithUs organization, has since 2004 been publically confronting what the group terms “anti-Israel hate speech” in the California Bay Area. Taking no position on Israel’s borders or on the fate of Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria, SFV4I attempts to present Israel as a Western democracy closely allied to the United States. To that end, the group holds regular counter demonstrations – often featuring American flags alongside Israeli ones – across from more belligerent and sometimes violent anti-Israel forces.

Opposite SFV4I this week at San Francisco’s crowded Union Square were Queers Undermining Israeli Terrorism (QUIT!), International Solidarity Movement (ISM) of Northern California, Code Pink, Women in Black and a number or other organizations hostile to Jewish statehood that normally succeed in broadcasting their message of “Israeli atrocities and racism” much louder and more aggressively than the StandWithUs affiliate.

But this week the Zionist Freedom Alliance (ZFA) of Northern California, a new factor in the Bay Area Jewish scene with a much younger membership than other pro-Israel groups, joined SFV4I and for the first time succeeded in turning the tables on the anti-Israel demonstrators. Rather than talk about Israeli democracy, the Alliance assertively pushed a message of Jewish national rights to all territory between the Mediterranean Sea and Jordan River. Caught off balance by the unapologetic and forceful Zionist message, anti-Israel activists, although employing their familiar tactic of presenting Israeli policies in a negative light, found themselves unable to challenge the assertion of Jewish rights.

ZFA’s message was not only directed against the anti-Israel protestors across the square but also against the Barack Obama administration in Washington and its pressure on Israel to freeze Jewish construction in Judea and Samaria. And while many of SFV4I’s members were visibly appreciative of the fresh and proudly Zionist message put forward by the younger ZFA activists, the organization’s leadership was initially apprehensive about working together.

“Our position is simple,” said Michael Harris of SFV4I. “We stand in support of a Jewish democratic state of Israel. We take no position on issues such as settlements, various peace proposals including final borders, et cetera, as those are for the elected government of Israel to decide... [However] some of ZFA’s positions are in direct opposition to the policies of all of the recent governments of Israel and that can confuse people who don't understand the issue very well.”

The more conservative SFV4I organizers were initially concerned that the Alliance was going to “hijack” their event and told Israel National News that they will not allow their “events [to be] taken over by those who want to push a particular political agenda.” But once it became clear how effective ZFA activists were in cowing their anti-Israel opponents while at the same time educating passersby to the justice of Jewish rights, SFV4I became more appreciative and welcoming to the new group.

ZFA leader Yehuda Katz, who reportedly also organized his activists to act as security guards to the older SFV4I demonstrators, told INN that when he learned that the anti-Israel event would be taking place in a part of the city with heavy pedestrian traffic and slow moving cars, his team quickly prepared materials and organized their activists for a counter-protest. “The Zionist Freedom Alliance opposes all forms of racism and bigotry, whether directed against Arabs, Jews or anyone else. Right now we see two forms of discrimination directed against our people so we go out and protest. On a local level here in San Francisco, people who call themselves progressive are constantly trying to delegitimize the rights of the Jewish people to sovereignty in our homeland. And on a larger scale, the government of this country is pressuring the government of Israel to prevent Jews from building in Israel’s heartland simply because they’re Jews. We can’t sit still in the face of injustice so we go out and give a voice to the voiceless Jews of Judea and Samaria.”

When asked how they connect their message of Jewish national rights to the anti-Israel protestors’ specific focus on last year’s war in Gaza, Katz said that if not for the expulsion of Jews from the Gaza region there would have been no need for a war. “The war was a direct result of the forced expulsion of Jews from their homes in Gush Katif. If not for that tragic crime, both Jews and Arabs would be living better lives in Gaza right now.”

Seattle Federation Gunman Found Guilty

NEW YORK (JTA) -- The man who shot up the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle building in July 2006 was found guilty of murder in his second trial.

A jury found Naveed Haq, 34, guilty on all eight counts against him. Haq, of Pasco, Wash., will spend the rest of his life in prison.

Following nearly two months of testimony, the jury agreed with the prosecution that Haq knew full well what he was doing when he wounded six women, killing one, at the federation building 2 1/2 years ago.

Haq suffers from a bipolar disorder and his defense claimed he could not understand his actions.

US Neo-Nazis and Moldova Christians Darken Chanukah Lights

Masked neo-Nazis disrupted a menorah lighting ceremony in Connecticut before being arrested, Christians in the Republic of Moldova replaced a menorah with a cross, and vandals in Long Island, New York threw a menorah in a pond.

News footage from the eastern European Republic of Moldova, located between Romania and Ukraine, showed a fundamentalist bearded priest leading 200 Christians who shouted anti-Semitic slogans and ripped down a public metal menorah, replacing it with a wooden cross.

The Christians then placed the menorah upside down at the base of a statue of a king, while police did not intervene. "The Jews can try to kill us, to traumatize our children,” the priest charged, adding that Jews try to “dominate people.”

In Connecticut, masked neo-Nazis Sunday night disrupted a Chanukah menorah lighting ceremony, shouting Nazi obscenities and waving Nazi flags bearing a swastika and an iron cross before police chased after them.

In Long Island, one public menorah was broken and a second was tossed into a pond in what police are treating as hate crimes.

(IsraelNN.com) In the wake of a report last week by Arutz Sheva-Israel National News, Jerusalem real estate purchased in a Zionist reclamation project over 30 years ago will remain in Jewish hands.

Aryeh King, chairman of the National Lands Fund, told Arutz Sheva Radio about an American Jewish businessman who lost his properties as a result of the global economic meltdown. As a result, among other necessary steps, he was forced to sell off Jerusalem property he purchased as part of a Zionist venture 30 years ago, when he lived in Iran. Thus far, King reported, the businessman sold one dunam of his four-dunam property in the capital to an Arab purchaser, who also obtained the right of first refusal for the remaining dunams should a Jewish buyer not be found.

This week King said that, due to the exposure the story received through Arutz Sheva, dozens of Jewish purchasers have come forward. They include Israelis and Diaspora Jews, some of whom offered to buy the land themselves and others who wanted to establish purchasing collectives.

Among those who offered to purchase the Jerusalem real estate, King said, was former Knesset Member Shmuel Flatto-Sharon. The former MK and businessman expressed an interest in the property after reading about the case on the Arutz Sheva website.

According to King, due to the many offers the current landowner received, it was decided to divide the remaining dunams of property among three separate buyers, rather than selling to one individual. One of the buyers is a Jerusalem businessman, a second is a resident of the south of the country and a third lives abroad.

The dunam that has already been sold, to a resident of the Beit Safafa neighborhood of Jerusalem, cannot be retrieved unless the buyer is willing to sell the land back. That purchase was already completed and carried out before the American businessman's story was publicized.

Ah...Bunny-Boy Steve Pallister, aka the ex-accounts RabbitVoz, RabbitNexus, SheepleSleeple, and NextRabbit, Steve-O...and I use that name because he belongs on "Jackass"...is our YouTube Aussie internet bully with a persecution complex. Seems like his account Nextrabbit, like all the previous ones, came under some fire from YouTube Administration, a couple of his vids got deleted, and then the account was suspended. In retaliation, Pallister has just created five more accounts, in direct violation of YouTube TOS.

Pallister's a laughable little man, staring at the camera with all the visual presence of a stick of wood. Our little down-under Jew hater has been hard at working lately denying the Holocaust; delegitimizing the state of Israel by spouting revisionist history; threatening and blocking anyone and anything that even hinted at disagreeing with his viewpoints; and generally acting like like a complete immature twit.

Two days before the NextRabbit channel was suspended, Pallister made the absurd claim that in 1948, Israeli troops outnumbered the five attacking Arab armies, and that Israel had far superior weaponry.

So I challenged Steve-O on his figures on his channel "RabbitStill":

"...Israel had 90,000 troops in 1947" Do you want to stick with that statement? (note: according to historical records, there were less than 30,000 by 1948.) Of course, you're going to claim that all historical references except yours are "Zionist controlled", right?...Afraid our postings would expose you for the deluded, lying fool you are? Afraid of a little history? I can provide you with plenty of documentation from non-Israeli sources, like the AHA (American Historical Society) or the Red Cross International Tracing Service at Bad Arolsen, Germany. Those two references should shine some light on your fantasy ravings about the history of Israel and of the Holocaust...."

Well, here's what Steve-O posted in reply...I guess my "deluded lying fool" jab got to him a bit:

"RavDov your hate speech and thug like criminal hypocrite natures are now on display for all to see, and by your own hand. I have nothing to say to you, I answered p058720235, take my answer or leave it, you are nothing to me."

(so I guess disagreeing with Steve-O constitutes hate speech? Notice that he didn't provide one shred of documentation for his claims.)

"As for your hilarious accusation of "silencing" anybody, that is rich coming from one who runs sites designed to silence people like me, who do not do hate speech...I have never silenced an honest attempt at discussion yet. I do block filth...but only after it is made."

(Pallister makes it a practice of talking down to, degrading, and name-calling anyone who disagrees with him, then blocking them from replying back. He blocked me shortly after this exchange.)

Iran Threatens Israel With Destruction

(Israelnationalnews.com) - A high-ranking Iranian government official says Iran will respond to either an American or Israeli attack by "blowing up the heart of the State of Israel." The spokesman is a representative of Ayatollah Khamenei, Iran's highest spiritual leader, in the country's most powerful military force, the Revolutionary Guard.

"Even if one Zionist or American rocket hits our land," said Mojtaba Zolnour, "Iranian rockets will explode in the heart of Israel even before the dust settles." He sounded the threat on Friday morning.

Just a week ago, Iran conducted an exercise in which it fired multiple long-range Shihab-3 ballistic missiles simultaneously. The rockets are able to reach any point in the Middle East, as well as some in Europe.

Western and Iranian negotiators are scheduled to begin their next round of talks on Iran's uranium enrichment program later this month. The U.S. House of Representatives voted on Thursday to have President Barack Obama report by January 31 on his diplomatic efforts to have Iran stop its drive to acquire nuclear weapons.

Earlier this year, Obama set an informal deadline of "the end of this year" to see if negotiations with Iran would prove effective. Congress has now given him an extra month.

The new bill, which still requires Senate approval, also demands the levying of sanctions on Iran if that country does not accept the American offer "to engage in diplomatic talks" and also if it does not "suspend all enrichment-related and reprocessing activities" related to its nuclear ambitions.

Facebook removes the account of the Jewish Internet Defense Force

Once again, Facebook has shown it’s true colors. As of yesterday, the account of David Appletree and the Jewish Internet Defense Force was suspended. This is not the first time this has happened. David has been dealing with this problem for months now - the account would be pulled, then returned intact; pulled again a week later, then restored, etc. This time it’s supposedly over personal information issues. Facebook wants David to provide a government document proving he’s a real person and that David Appletree is his legal name.

What an absurd request, and what a blatant case of harassment. Shame on Facebook!

Shielding true personal information, especially a group like the JIDF, is essential to keeping people such as David safe from individuals who would like nothing more than to silence pro-Jewish voices for good. It’s a harsh, cruel world out there, and it's inhabited by bigots (and just plain nasty people) who want to eliminate Jews and others who dare to take a stand against the electronic jihad/neo-nazi factions spewing their anti-Semitic hatred all over the internet. In my case, one of the hate mongers who infests YouTube actually came to Seattle to try and find me and send me a “message” (probably using a club or a gun). Lucky for me and my family, the person was unsuccessful in his attempts.

An Open letter To Facebook

Please reinstate the account of David Appletree of the Jewish Internet Defense Force. It is my understanding that Facebook deleted his account over personal information issues.

I must protest this deactivation in the strongest terms. Social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Blogger, and YouTube need sites like the JIDF to counter the rising tide of Anti-Semitism 2.0, a phenomenon that seems to be growing exponentially over the last few years. Islamist terror cells, white supremacist and neo-nazi groups, and Holocaust denial organizations all seem to have a presence on Facebook. Will it be the policy of your company to “card” those accounts as well? I also notice that you have several Chabad and other Jewish accounts on a list for requesting documentation.

Such behavior brings back memories for many Jews, in which one of the early tactics of the Hitler regime in Nazi Germany was that a Jew was required to “show his papers” to any soldier on demand or risk arrest.

As a longtime member of another site, YouTube, I can also attest to the power of anti-Semitic forces engaging in spam-flagging an account into suspension, even when that account has not violated any TOS policies. My own account, ravdov571, was suspended in 2008 after being attacked by neo-nazi and Islamist flaggers who were determined to silence me. Luckily, I was able to get it back intact. I hope this will be the case with Facebook concerning the account of TheJIDF.

I can say with all assurance that David is an forthright, upstanding, honest person who just wants to ensure the safety of himself and his family, in view of the death threats he has been receiving. He is currently, in my opinion, the most important and effective voice in the Jewish community in the war against hate and intolerance.

I would ask that Facebook immediately reinstate the account of David Appletree, and restore his document, friends lists, articles, and all things pertaining to it. Please do not let the forces of anti-Semitism influence Facebook policy. Doing so would create a slippery slope, in which the efforts of pro-Jewish and pro-Israel voices on the internet would end up being severely crippled, if not totally eliminated.

Ahmadinejad gets snubbed - again

(IsraelNN.com) Eleven countries, led by France and the United States, walked out Wednesday evening on a speech by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that railed against Jews and Israel. Ambassadors from Argentina, Australia, Britain, Costa Rica, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Italy and New Zealand joined the walkout. Israel and Canada boycotted the speech before the Islamic Republic leader even began.

European Union countries had agreed ahead of the speech that they would walk out if Ahmadinejad were to start making “unacceptable” remarks. He gave them plenty of reasons to carry out their threat. Ahmadinejad, who copied the Hamas policy of referring to Israel as the “Zionist regime,” derided Israel for what he called its “inhumane polices” and “genocide” against Palestinian Authority Arabs. He also accused Jews of being a “small minority that would dominate the politics, economy and culture of major parts of the world by its complicated networks."

Ahmadinejad defended the results of his re-election three months ago, claiming the vote was "glorious and fully democratic" and that people entrusted me once more with a large majority." He made little mention of the Islamic Republic's uranium enrichment program or its other nuclear development activities. Shortly before his speech, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton issued a soft deadline for Iran.

She told reporters following a meeting with the foreign ministers from Russia, Britain, France, China and Germany that the six nations would wait until the talks with the Islamic Republic scheduled to take place on October 1 before deciding whether to impose harsher sanctions over its intransigence on halting its nuclear development activities.

This is the second time this year delegates have walked out on Ahmadinejad. In April, several representatives of European nations protested during the Iranian leader's speech at the U.N. Racism Conference in Geneva, Switzerland. Upon hearing his opening barbs against Israel, the French delegation stood up and walked out. Some 40 diplomats from more than 20 countries, mostly Europeans but including Morocco, followed suit, as did several nongovernmental organizations, including B'nai B'rith International.

German Newspaper Gives Blueprints for Nazi Death Camp to Israel

Berlin, Germany - Sketched on yellowing parchment, the 29 blueprints presented to Israel's prime minister Thursday lay out the Nazi death camp at Auschwitz in chilling detail, with gas chambers, crematoria, delousing facilities and watch towers drawn to scale.

"There are those who deny that the Holocaust happened," Benjamin Netanyahu said as he accepted the documents as a gift to Israel's Holocaust memorial, where they will go on display next year. "Let them come to Jerusalem and look at these plans, these plans for the factory of death."

Netanyahu lingered over the large sheets spread on a table. Stamped with the Nazi abbreviation for concentration camp "K.L. Auschwitz," one of the largest featured multi-colored sketches, with barracks and even latrines drawn in detail. Other smaller sheets showed architectural designs of individual buildings, drawn from various angles.

The Israeli leader was accompanied by his wife, Sara, whose father was the only member of his family to survive the Nazi genocide that killed 6 million Jews during World War II. She watched somberly as the documents, which date from 1941 to 1943, were unfolded.

Also present was Yossi Peled, an Israeli Cabinet minister and former general whose father was killed by the Nazis and whose mother survived Auschwitz in one of the barracks detailed in the blueprints. Peled himself was hidden until age 7 by a family in Belgium who raised him as a Christian. He discovered his Jewish roots in 1948 and was taken to Israel two years later.

In Germany for a visit that combined talks on the Mideast conflict with acknowledgments of the painful past that binds the two countries, Netanyahu drew a clear parallel between the events of the Nazi era and the present day. The world did not do enough to stop the murder of Europe's Jews, he said, and must be careful now to take rapid action against "armed barbarism."

"We cannot allow those who wish to perpetrate mass death, those who call for the destruction of the Jewish people or the Jewish state to go unchallenged," Netanyahu said.

Though he did not explicitly mention Iran, his comments were a clear reference to the Tehran regime and its nuclear program, which Israel sees as a grave threat and wants blocked by stronger international sanctions. Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said Israel should be "wiped off the map."

Axel Springer Verlag, the publisher of the mass circulation Bild newspaper, obtained the Auschwitz blueprints last year from a German man who said he found them when cleaning out an apartment in what was formerly East Berlin.

The publisher and Germany's federal archive have confirmed the documents' authenticity.

Numbering found on the back of the plans indicates they may have been taken from an archive, possibly the collection of documents on the Third Reich kept by the Stasi.

The documents were displayed for several weeks earlier this year in the lobby of Bild's headquarters in Berlin. The newspaper's editor, Kai Diekmann, said the publisher decided to give the sketches to Israel to ensure that as many people as possible could see them.

"These plans have an important function — they remind us of a crime that, with the passing of time, seems ever more incomprehensible," Diekmann said. "It is of the utmost importance to continue to be reminded of it."

While they are not the only original Auschwitz blueprints that still exist — others were captured by the Soviet Red Army and brought to Moscow — they will be the first for Israel's Yad Vashem memorial, its chairman, Avner Shalev, told The Associated Press.

"This set is a very early one, which was found here in Berlin, from the autumn of '41," Shalev said. "It brings a better understanding of the whole process, and the intention of the planners of the complex, and from this perspective it is important."

Shalev said the sketches will be on display in Jerusalem beginning Jan. 27 as part of a special exhibit marking the 65th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.

The blueprints include general plans for the original Auschwitz camp and the expansion of the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp, where most of the killings were carried out. They were initialed by the head of the SS, Heinrich Himmler, and Auschwitz commandant Rudolf Hoess.

One of the drawings, dated Oct. 14, 1941, shows plans for construction of a "Waffen SS prisoner of war camp" with rows of what appear to be barracks. A notation in the bottom right says it was drafted by a prisoner identified only by his number: "Nr. 471."

German historian Ralf Georg Reuth, who reviewed the documents after they were discovered, noted that it was common to have prisoners draw up the plans for gas chambers where they would later be killed.

More than 1 million people, mostly Jews, died in the gas chambers or through forced labor, disease or starvation at Auschwitz, which the Nazis built after occupying Poland.

Later Thursday, Netanyahu visited a house on Berlin's Wannsee Lake that was the site of an infamous Jan. 20, 1942, meeting at which top Nazis formalized plans for the systematic killing of Europe's Jewish population.

Germany and Israel, which was established three years after the Nazi defeat, today enjoy close ties. On Thursday, Chancellor Angela Merkel underlined Germany's special commitment, saying it was her country's obligation to "defend Israel always."

After those statements, she and Netanyahu shared a spontaneous and warm handshake.

Fatah: PA Will Take All of Jerusalem – by Peace or by Force

The Fatah party headed by Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, re-elected in the fractured party convention in Bethlehem Saturday night, concluded all of Jerusalem is a “red line” for the PA.

"Fatah will continue to sacrifice victims until Jerusalem will be returned, clean of settlements and settlers," according to a Fatah “all-or-nothing” policy paper, which did not distinguish between the part of the capital that was restored to Israel in the Six-Day War in 1967 and the section that was recognized by the United Nations as part of Israel in the 1949 Armistice Agreement.

Abbas, who previously has said he will not extend his term of office as head of the Palestinian Authority, which Fatah leads, was re-elected unanimously for another five-year term. He was the sole candidate who stood for the position. The de facto Hamas government in Gaza prevented Fatah delegates from leaving the region for Bethlehem, but several of them voted by telephone.

The convention, marked by scuffles and mud slinging, is being extended to Tuesday as it tries to rejuvenate itself following years of corruption, which opponents say remains rampant.

Abbas warned at the opening of the convention that Israel faces violence from the PA if it does not agree to its terms for a new Arab state on the land of Judea, Samaria and Gaza. He claimed that attacks on Israelis are valid under international law.

“Although we have chosen peace, we maintain the right to launch an armed resistance, which is legitimate as far as international law is concerned." he told approximately the 2,000 delegates.

At-Tayyib Abdul-Rahim, a member of Fatah Central Committee, said following Abbas's re-election, “Fatah is still a liberation movement, and since we have not achieved our goals, we have popular resistance.... If peace efforts are thwarted, there will be no security, nor stability in the region.”

Terrorists Plotted to Kill Israeli Envoy to Egypt

Egyptian officials have uncovered a plot by three Al-Qaeda linked terrorists to assassinate Israeli Ambassador to Egypt Shalom Cohen and to bomb Muslim and Christian sites, the Arabic-language Cairo-based Almasry Alyoum newspaper reported. However, it is not known if the terrorists’ confessions were voluntary or were made as a result of torture.

The cell’s Al-Qaeda connection was a terrorist using the name of Abu Hamdan al-Libi, who apparently is in Iraq after having left Egypt. Other members of the cell also fled Egypt.

The Egyptian State Security Prosecution said that its personnel have been tracking potential terrorist targets. It said the terrorists were unable to break through the tight security around Ambassador Cohen’s home and the embassy.

Relations between Israel and Egypt have been chilly despite the diplomatic ties that were established three decades ago. The United States government reportedly intervened to make sure that Egypt invited Cohen to U.S. President Barack Obama’s “reaching out to Muslims” speech at Cairo University in early June. Cohen attended despite threats by university lecturers that they would block him from entering the campus.

Egypt also recently delivered a strong message to Cohen over the eviction of illegal Arab residents at the Sheikh Jarreh property that is owned by Jews. The envoy’s explanation that the homes in question have been owned by Jews for more than 80 years did not satisfy the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, which insisted that Israel was “dispossessing Arabs of their property."

What’s the largest kosher restaurant chain?

Mendy’s? Six branches, seven if you count the meat and dairy counters at New York City's Grand Central Station.

Dougie’s? Five branches in New York and New Jersey.

Don’t even bring up Nathan’s Famous -- it stopped making kosher hot dogs altogether.

The dark-horse winner is Subway, the made-to-order sandwich giant poised to open its ninth kosher franchise Aug. 18 inside the Michael-Ann Russell Jewish Community Center in North Miami Beach, Fla. New Subways opening in Indianapolis and Skokie, Ill., will make it 11 by the end of the year. Five more are planned for next year.

Subway is not the only fast-food chain with kosher branches. Dunkin’ Donuts, the world's largest coffee and baked goods chain, has 33 kosher franchises, mostly in New York, according to company spokesman Andrew Mastrangelo. They serve dairy breakfast sandwiches, but not full meals.

Subway, the second largest fast-food franchise in the world, didn’t set out to be No. 1 in the kosher market. Staffers at company headquarters in Milford, Conn., seemed bemused by the news.

“Really?” laughed Kevin Kane in the marketing department.

Sure, 11 kosher stores pales in comparison to the 22,000 non-kosher Subways in the United States, or to the hundreds of halal Subways in England and the Arab world. But it’s more than anyone else is offering.

And it’s a creative solution for Jewish community centers that want to offer kosher food but don’t want to take the financial risk themselves. Some would rather offer no food than violate kosher law.

“There are very few JCCs that run successful food establishments,” says Eric Koehler, director of the JCC of Northern Virginia, which has never provided food services in its building. “In this economy, it doesn’t make sense to have something that loses $20,000 to $30,000 a year.”

That’s why the Mandel JCC in Cleveland rented space to the country’s first kosher Subway in May 2006. The center had offered only kosher dining options since it opened in 1986, but none lasted very long. When Michael Hyman arrived in 2004 as the center’s new director, he closed the building’s last struggling cafe without knowing whether he could replace it.

In stepped Ghazi Faddoul, a Lebanese Christian who had opened 100 Subways in Cleveland and was willing to give kosher a try with the clout of a global chain behind him.

Ham and bacon were removed from the menu, the “cheese” is made of soy, and the Seafood Sensation sandwich is filled with imitation crab. Two microwaves and toaster ovens ensure that fish and meat are kept separate, a consideration for more observant Jews. There is a full-time mashgiach, or kosher supervisor, and the restaurant is closed on Shabbat.

“It’s been wildly successful,” Hyman says.In June, the JCC of Greater Washington in Rockville, Md., picked up on Cleveland’s experience, opening a kosher Subway in a space formerly filled by a kosher Dunkin’ Donuts. Executive director Michael Feinstein says the center has been getting much more foot traffic since it opened, particularly from Orthodox Jews.

“There aren’t that many kosher restaurants in the D.C. area, so it’s nice for the community to have this option,” Feinstein says. “And it’s great for us because it gets people into our building who might not otherwise be there.”

The Miami Beach JCC also looked to Cleveland’s example. The center’s director, Gary Bomzer, notes that the building already has an in-house kosher caterer, but no sit-down restaurant.

“Bringing in a national chain gives us real credibility,” he explains. “A brand name like Subway provides more than a cup of coffee.”

The remaining kosher Subways are freestanding stores: two in New York City, in Brooklyn and Queens, as well as one in Cedarhurst in the city's Long Island suburbs; and one each in Los Angeles, Baltimore and Kansas City.

The U.S. stores are the only kosher Subways. Israel opened the world’s first kosher Subway in 1992 but the operation, which reached 23 stores at its peak, shut down in 2004 after the original manager died.

Subway spokesman Les Winograd says the company used its experience with halal, the Muslim standard, to learn how to deal with kashrut challenges such as sourcing specific meat and following strict dietary laws. The first halal Subway opened in Bahrain in 1984, followed by branches in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Tanzania, Zambia and other countries with large Muslim communities. England alone has nearly 60 halal branches.

Kosher Subways are more difficult to keep open, Winograd says. Some open and shut, like one that lasted for about a year in Livingston, N.J., and a Wall Street branch that closed last winter when the economy collapsed.

While Winograd receives lots of inquiries from potential franchise owners in other countries who are interested in the kosher option, none have panned out.

“The population has not always been there to support the business,” he says.

Subway serves meat, so a kosher store requires full-time kosher supervision -- an extra expense added to ingredients that already cost more than their non-kosher equivalents.

Maurice Lichy, owner of the new Miami JCC Subway, says he’s trying to keep his prices “competitive” and hopes to charge no more than $1.50 extra per sandwich.

Will he offer a kosher $5 Footlong?

Lichy hesitates.

“No," he says, "but I’ll try to manage a $6 Footlong. Probably tuna or turkey; not the corned beef.”

Hamas Summer Camps

According to Israeli defense officials, more than 120,000 Palestinian children are spending the summer in Hamas-run camps. In addition to religious studies, the children undergo semi-military training with toy guns.

At a recent summer camp graduation ceremony, the children put on a show reenacting the June 2006 abduction of IDF soldier Gilad Schalit. Present was Osama Mazini, a senior Hamas political leader, who is in charge of the Schalit negotiations with Israel on behalf of the terrorist group.

In one picture, obtained by the Post, Mazini is seen standing next to Ahmad Bahar, the acting speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council, distributing Korans to camp counselors.

"This sends a message," one Israeli defense official said, regarding Mazini's participation at the ceremony. "This is Hamas's way of showing Palestinian children that kidnapping soldiers is the correct way of life."

In contrast to the Hamas summer camps, the United Nations has been running summer games throughout the Gaza Strip for 240,000 children. These games, run by UNRWA, are being held at over 150 locations. The participants are mostly between the ages of six and 15 and engage in sports, arts and crafts, swimming and other cultural activities.

Last week, senior Hamas official Dr. Younes al-Istal told Al-Arabiya TV the UNRWA summer camps were part of a plan to corrupt the younger generation and prepare it for normalization with Israel.

Ahead of the summer, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories allowed UNRWA to transfer truckloads of camp equipment - including inflatable swimming pools, toys, spray paint and musical instruments - into the Gaza Strip.

An Open Letter to Holocaust Deniers

If the Holocaust was indeed a hoax, who, specifically, was responsible for it? I will qualify my question by adding that just saying "the Jews" is not an adequate answer. I want to know - which Jews? Just saying "Zionists" is not adequate. I want to know - which Zionists? I want names - I want dates. I want the who, what, when, where, and why! But, above all, I want evidence to show that these people actually perpetrated this "hoax”. Are such questions all that unreasonable? I don’t think so.

After all, Mr. Holocaust Denier - it's you who are arguing for a conspiracy that would have to be on a scale so massive and so secretive, that nothing like it had ever been seen before or has ever been seen since. How could the logistics of how such a massive "hoax" could possibly be pulled off - much less kept secret for over 60 years - human nature being what it is? A massive conspiracy to INVENT a historical event and then catalogue it in such detail is unprecedented in human history, don’t you think?

I'm sure that other people reading this are very curious about the details. Are you suggesting that perhaps all these people got together: Jewish reporters; the New York Times; and the lawyers of Jewish organizations and fabricated the Holocaust, then forced the Allied nations - Britain, France, the United States, the USSR, and the rest of Europe - to falsify evidence, plant bodies, and fabricate documents? Are you serious? Do you even realize the massive undertaking it would have been?

And then I assume that this Jewish reporter, the New York Times, and the lawyers of “several Jewish organizations” created a shadowy unit of enforcers to KEEP the governments of Britain, France, the United States, the USSR, and the rest of Europe in compliance with this fabrication, as well as penetrating academia to force them to go along with it as well? Are you sure this is the best you can do? I'm just curious where this diabloical scheme was hatched, and who carried it out.

I would ask to to please present YOUR narrative of what really happened in Europe from 1933 to 1945, and explain to me who organized the Holocaust, and how it was done? If such a great effort was made to forge documents, make people disappear or be silent, and create whole faked atrocities, faked photos, sham trials, coerced confessions, phone eyewitnesses, and so on, who did it - specifically? Where are the hidden operators who performed all these feats?

Who directed this campaign? Where was it based? Which authority? Since this conspiracy has held over 60 years, how was it passed down from generation to generation to ensure continued compliance all around the world? Who were the Canadian, British, French, New Zealand, Japanese, and Falkland Island authorities to ensure continued compliance? How were all the wartime Nazis and their descendants kept silent for 60 years? How were those who took part in the conspiracy kept silent?

What about their families and descendants? Where is the paper trail for this conspiracy? How was it accomplished without a single memo? And finally, if this conspiracy is so complete, so well-organized, and so perfect, why did they leave so many holes? Why didn't they forge the written order from Hitler to Himmler and other important documents? Why did they fail to wring confessions out of so many key Nazis?

Why didn't they notarize Anne Frank's diary, or better yet, keep her alive to say, "Yup, I wrote this?" Why did they let Bormann disappear and Eichmann and Mengele escape to Argentina? Why did it take the Israelis 25 years to find Eichmann, if they control the world? Why did they let Himmler, Ley, and Goering kill themselves without leaving behind a full confession? Why didn't they get one out of Rudolf Hess?

If this "conspiracy" was devised just to create a State of Israel subsidized by American dollars, why did they do such a lousy job, creating a truncated state surrounded by hostile neighbors? Why didn't they simply have Israel invade and conquer the whole Middle East, take over the oil supplies, and ensure high prices for the oil barons and bankers?

Please give us a detailed account of how a group of people, no matter how powerful, could manipulate the rest of the world's population into believing that a genocide of such proportions had taken place. What methods had they employed to hoodwink free-thinking individuals? Such an undertaking would have to be intrepid indeed to convince a single country. How had it been able to convince a host of other nations as well?

Even if it was possible, how had they been able to maintain complete secrecy? How was it that they had not suffered a single defection? An individual who, perhaps due to a disagreement with "the group," might opt to break ranks after 60 years and expose the whole shabang? Imagine the wealth and status that such a person could attain for finally offering up proof positive of the biggest historical hoax EVER perpetrated! Was this ring of conspirators totally void of greed and desire for fame and fortune?

Well, Mr Holocaust Denier, let me tell you what I think. I think you know all too well that the Holocaust really happened. I think you're just angry that Hitler was stopped before he could finish the job. What you really want to do is change that narrative from being a horrific act of mass murder and genocide into being the heroic Aryan race protecting itself from a tribe of subhuman and sneaking conspiratorial banker/Communists, by exterminating the Jewish menace just as it was rearing up its ugly head to wreck humanity. Klan Member Arrested in Israel

MICKY LOUIS MAYON, a violent neo-Nazi member of the Klux Klux Klan, thought Israel would be the perfect hiding place after fleeing from the USA in November 2007.

However, Israeli immigration police arrested the 32-year-old on July 13 at his Tel Aviv apartment. Ironically, they did not know that he was on the FBI’s 100 most-wanted list.

A search warrant against him had been issued for remaining in Israel illegally after his one month tourist visa ran out.

Mayon, from Steelton, Pennsylvania, is wanted for questioning suspected of torching Dauphin County District Judge Steven M. Semic's car, and faces charges, including reckless endangerment, public drunkenness, disorderly conduct, avoiding apprehension and firearms violations.

He is known to be a staunch advocate of white supremacist ideals and preacher of neo-Nazi views.

Sabine Haddad, spokesperson for the Israeli Interior Ministry said “He hid here because he thought it would be the last place they would look for him.”

Did Jews Dominate The Slave Trade?

There has been a recent upsurge in the number of postings on video sharing sites such as YouTube and on certain internet blogs that charge, among other things, that Jews dominated the worldwide - and in particular, the African-American - slave trade during the 18th and 19th centuries. While it is no secret to historians - and it is well documented - that some Jews were involved in the slave trade during that period in history, the question is: did we dominate the practice, like the anti-Semitic pundits would have us believe?

The only historical conclusion I can draw is.....no. Jews were a very small minority, both in trading and in ownership. Census records from the American South during the Civil War seem to indicate that all the Jewish slave owners and traders combined were a minute fraction of even the smallest single slave trading operation in the area.

If one wants to do honest research on the subject, they will discover that the majority of the blame for slavery can be laid squarely on the shoulders of Muslim and Christian rulers in Africa and Europe, who made up the majority of slavers throughout history, and the good, white, Protestant Christian owners of plantations across the Colonies who used them as cattle.

While slavery was and still is a vile and reprehensible practice, it does not seem to stop these hate mongers from picking through the trash bins of history and coming up with with this outrageous canard that all Jews were somehow wholly complicit in, or that we dominated - the practice of slavery. We did not, and frankly, these propagandists are damn liars for saying so. I do not use the accusation lightly - I shout it loud and clear so everyone can understand.

That being said, I can somewhat understand their motives for participating in this bit of anti-Semitic screeching and mud-slinging. People who do this fall into one of several categories of Jew haters. The first and most vocal group are the Muslims. This I can definitely understand, because if I were a Muslim, and my people were actively involved in profiting off the slave trade for 1400 years - including Mohammed who, in 627 CE slaughtered 800 male Jews of the Banu Qurayza tribe in the city of Medina, then sold their wives and children into slavery - I would want to deflect a little of the blame myself.

Then there are the followers of Tony Martin and his ilk like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Louis Farrakhan, who are race-baiters. They may not have personally benefited from the slave trade, but they certainly benefit from, and have gotten rich off of, pounding the anti-Semitic pulpit. Its all about money and personal lifestyle with these people. An off shoot of this category are the anti-Semites known as the Black Hebrew Israelites. Videos by their supporters on the subject have been uploaded onto YouTube with an alarming frequency.

Lastly, there are the white supremacist organizations, whether secular or religious. While they and their ancestors have and still do benefit from the world slave trade, and they would just as soon hang their above-mentioned fellow slave-trade believers like Martin from the nearest tree as to look at them, they also do it to deflect blame. It seems the descendants of the main perpetrators of American slavery want to deny their true history, so they jump on the “Jews dominated the slave trade” bandwagon with the rest of the torch-wielding mob. With the number of white supremacist leaders and their appointed spokespeople on the internet crawling into bed with the radical Muslims (also at an alarming rate), they have managed to secure their place in history as the true dhimmis of the Islamists.

In the end, the common denominator among all of these groups is anti-Semitism.

Frankly, it is disheartening and rather sickening that humanity has sunk to such a low that it has to use scapegoats to deflect attention away from its own history of bigotry, intolerance, and hate; war, slavery, and conquest; murder and subjugation. Instead of meeting and overcoming the challenges head on like the rest of the civilized world, they choose to ignore the vast historical record of man's inhumanity to man, and concentrate all their efforts on hating, vilifying, and dehumanizing the one whipping boy everyone can rely on as a target - the Jews.

Canadian Hate Group Shocks Calgary

Wielding "White Pride Worldwide" flags and wearing black combat boots, about 40 members of the Aryan Guard and their supporters strode through the heart of Calgary, in western Canada, on March 21 to broadcast their message of hate at City Hall.

But they never got there. Instead, they encountered several hundred anti-racist protesters, some of whom threw rocks, water bottles and even cans of vegetables at the group as traffic came to a halt and police called for backup. Police eventually herded the neo-Nazis onto a bus that returned them to their vehicles on Calgary's outskirts. Though no serious injuries were reported, the melee snared headlines across Canada and prompted Aryan Guard spokesman Kyle McKee — who has "Kill Jews" tattooed on his shins — to declare victory. "We didn't make it to City Hall, but I think a lot of people will hear about it, and on that part it's a success," he told Canwest News Service.

The aborted march shows how the relatively tiny Aryan Guard has nonetheless made its presence felt in Calgary, which has sizeable immigrant and minority populations. "What they stand for is causing a lot of anxiety and concern in the community," said Edmonton Police Sgt. Stephen Camp, co-chair of the Alberta Hate Crime Committee. "They're pretty hard-core."

The group gained a toehold in Canada's third-largest city through the efforts of the country's two best-known white supremacists, showing how established movement leaders continue to exploit the anger of bigoted young people in an effort to advance their cause. Essentially a racist gang, the Aryan Guard is the most public hate group to appear in Calgary — which, like much of western Canada, has a history of such activity going back to the Klan of the 1920s — in the past two decades. These Nazi look-alikes have clashed with counter-protesters at rallies in the city's downtown, handed out white-power music CDs to teenagers in an attempt to bolster their membership, and perpetrated attacks on minorities despite espousing non-violence. In a country where racism tends to be suppressed, the community's response to the Aryan Guard's in-your-face tactics has resembled, in the words of Sgt. Camp, "a collective gasp."

"It shocks us," added Valerie Pruegger, social research planner for the city of Calgary. "That's not something that the larger public expects to see."

The Aryan Guard was founded in late 2006 with help from two disgraced ex-teachers who marched with the fringe group at the March 21 rally: Paul Fromm of the Canadian Association for Free Expression, who lost his teaching certificate because of his white supremacist activities, and National Socialist Party of Canada leader Terry Tremaine, a former part-time university lecturer who in 2007 was fined $4,000 by the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal because of his racist and anti-Semitic Internet postings.

"They were the main catalysts behind bringing these young fellows here," said Constable Lynn MacDonald, hate crimes coordinator for the Calgary Police Service.

MacDonald said the Aryan Guard has also received ongoing support from Christian Waters, a leader of the Canadian branch of the Brotherhood of Klans Knights of the Ku Klux Klan. Headquartered in Marion, Ohio, that group has emerged as the largest Klan organization in the United States.

The Aryan Guard is hardly the first Canadian hate group with links to U.S.-based white supremacist organizations. In the 1920s, American organizers seeded the Ku Klux Klan in Canada, where it thrived in western Canada generally and Calgary specifically. Many of the best-known contemporary U.S. groups, including Aryan Nations, have in recent times had Canadian chapters. The World Church of the Creator (WCOTC, since renamed the Creativity Movement), once formed an alliance with Heritage Front, a Canadian neo-Nazi group that fell apart around 2005. George Burdi, a former WCOTC member and racist rock band leader, and the founder of Resistance Records — a white-power music label that just a few years ago was the largest such distributor in the world — is a Canadian.

The Aryan Guard began as a loose-knit group of about 10 people and now has roughly 20 full-fledged members, MacDonald said. Another 20 to 30 are somewhat affiliated, including those belonging to the Valkyrian Legion, or woman's wing of the Aryan Guard, which consists mostly of the girlfriends of male members. The majority of Aryan Guard members are in their early 20s.

Despite forming 2 1/2 years ago, the Aryan Guard didn't garner much attention until late July 2007, when members inserted neo-Nazi pamphlets into the pages of Fast Forward, an alternative newsweekly, and distributed hate literature in a couple of Calgary neighborhoods. That September, they ventured some 130 miles away to the town of Lethbridge, where they handed out fliers under the direction of Tremaine, who told Canada Press that the group "doesn't have a problem with non-white people, as long as they stay in their own homelands."

Although the Aryan Guard disrupted anti-racism rallies in August 2007, its first organized public appearance occurred nearly two months later, when about 15 neo-Nazis rallied outside City Hall to denounce the Canadian law that permits Muslim women to wear burkas while voting. Since then, the group has conducted sporadic demonstrations in Calgary, including the first "White Pride Day" rally in March 2008, which drew about 30 Aryan Guard members and supporters. Both White Pride Day events were scheduled to coincide with the International Day for the Elimination of Racism. In January 2009, the Aryan Guard briefly set aside its Muslim-bashing to join a protest against Israel's incursions into Gaza, much to the consternation of the protest's Arab-Canadian organizers who did not share the group's anti-Semitism.

At all its rallies, the Aryan Guard has found itself vastly outnumbered by anti-racist protesters, including members of Anti-Racist Action Calgary. Police say both Aryan Guard members and counter-protesters have been arrested for assaults at these events, with this year's White Pride Day rally seeing the most serious altercations between the two groups. (Jason Devine, a spokesman for Anti-Racist Action Calgary, said no member of his group has been charged in connection with any incident at an Aryan Guard rally.) Police complain that the anti-racists — who they say were the main instigators at the March 21 rally — tend to be uncooperative. For their part, the anti-racists accuse police of ignoring acts of violence by the Aryan Guard, which police deny.

The true danger posed by the Aryan Guard comes not from its public activities, but from its more clandestine ones. A man reached at the Aryan Guard's contact number refused to answer most questions during a brief interview, but repeated the group's opposition to violence. Yet the group's history of criminal activity belies that assertion. According to the Calgary Police Service, the Aryan Guard has been linked to several assaults between late 2006 and mid-2008. The victims have included a homeless man, a gay community member, and a cab driver from North Africa, MacDonald said.

Writing about the latter incident on Stormfront on July 20, 2007, McKee — who'd been charged in connection with the attack, though he claimed a good friend was actually responsible — boasted about getting the case dismissed. "The reason being was that they couldn't make a positive ID because apparently everyone there was all dressed in combat boots with white laces [and] black flight jackets and all had shaved heads. So let this be a lesson to anyone who wonders why on earth all us skinheads dress so similarly. [T]his is another great reason. lol [laughing out loud]"

The incident that has received the most publicity involved an assault on a Japanese visitor in her mid-20s, Asako Okazaki, when she left a bar shortly after midnight in July 2008. A 17-year-old Aryan Guard member — who was convicted in March but has not been publicly identified because he was a juvenile — kicked the woman in the back of the head with steel-toed boots. According to court testimony, the attacker followed the woman out of the bar after making a disparaging remark about Asians. At the time of his arrest he was wearing boots with red laces — a skinhead symbol indicating he'd spilled blood for the movement.

In addition, members of Anti-Racist Action believe that the Aryan Guard is responsible for firebombing Jason Devine's home shortly before last year's White Pride march. Devine said he was home with his children one night when he saw a flash of light and heard a crash. The poorly constructed Molotov cocktail did little damage to his home, but Aryan Guard members taunted him and his wife about the incident at protests. "Is it hot in there?" they asked, according to Devine. "How are the kids? How's the house?" (Police investigated but never charged anyone in the incident. Constable MacDonald said an Aryan Guard member's home was also bombed and that police received information that a member of Anti-Racist Action was responsible. Devine says no such bombing ever occurred.)

The Aryan Guard has also been tied to less serious but still disruptive crimes, including vandalizing a shopping mall and using racial slurs last year on a First Nations reserve near Calgary, according to news accounts. Four Aryan Guard members were charged with mischief and disturbing the peace in connection with that incident.

"I think the larger population in Calgary can ignore them because they don't necessarily see the effect on the racialized [non-white] communities here, but the racialized communities can't escape it," Pruegger, the Calgary planner, said. "They're quite aware of what these people are saying and what they represent. It's a real black eye for our city."

The group's propensity for criminal activity is no surprise given that many members have histories of vandalism and assault. Two of the group's most prominent members, McKee and Dallas Price, faced assault and weapons charges in connection with a September 2006 confrontation in which one victim was hit with a wooden club and another was stabbed with a knife. Robert Reitmeier, also active in the group, was charged with attempted murder in connection with a November 2006 assault on a man who suffered skull and facial fractures. Member Bill Noble was convicted in 2008 of posting hate material on the Internet that primarily targeted non-whites, Jews and gays. A judge sentenced him to four months in jail and imposed limits on his computer use for three years, though Noble continues to post frequently on Stormfront.

The Aryan Guard is now trying to recruit four new members per month, MacDonald said. There's no evidence they've had much success. Last July, the group attempted to entice new members to move to Calgary by offering to pay their rental damage deposits — a boon in a city with a high cost of living. "We believe that through fortifying our current locations with more White Nationalists we can spread the world [sic] more efficiently and then in the future branch out further throughout Canada," McKee posted on Stormfront.

In their latest stab at increasing membership, the Aryan Guard is distributing white power CDs to teenagers, MacDonald said. The campaign resembles a U.S.-based recruitment drive dubbed "Project Schoolyard" that succeeded in getting thousands of racist music samplers into the hands of middle and high school students in 2004 and late 2008. A 2004 quote from white-power music broker Byron Calvert, who was behind the most recent incarnation of Project Schoolyard, appears on the Aryan Guard's website. However, Calvert told the Intelligence Report he's not involved in the group's effort to disseminate white power music. Pictured on the Aryan Guard's website, the CD is emblazoned with the group's URL, along with a list of songs including "Keep it White" and "Stop Immigration."

The Aryan Guard has been adept at using Internet sites — including Stormfront, Blood & Honour, Facebook and its own site's forum — to network with other white supremacists. "Because of their use of the media, including the Web, they definitely have a strong impact," said Cam Stewart, who authored a hate crimes report commissioned by the Alberta Hate and Bias Crime Incidents Committee. "If you look at the posts on Stormfront, they're getting a lot of support and attention across the city and across North America. That just encourages like-minded people to carry on their ideology."

Like many white supremacist organizations, however, the Aryan Guard has been plagued by infighting. The group even appeared to be on the verge of collapse last fall after some members defected, according to anti-racist activists. Thanks to a sex scandal, allegations of drug use, and other behavior deemed unfit for a superior race, the group has also acquired a dubious reputation among their fellow travelers. "Increasingly, they're being seen in the white power movement, at least in some sectors, as jokers," Devine said.

But for now anti-racist activists say they shouldn't be ignored. "These people are violent thugs," Devine said. "They're going to collapse eventually, but the real question is, 'Who are they going to hurt between now and then?'"

(note: not all conspiracy loonies are anti-Semites, but nearly all anti-Semites are, in varying degrees, conspiracy loonies)

1. Arrogance. They are always fact-seekers, questioners, people who are trying to discover, or even claim to know, the truth: sceptics are always "sheep", patsies for Zionists, world leaders, the NWO, etc.

2. Relentlessness. They will always go on and on about a conspiracy no matter how little evidence they have to go on or how much of what they have is simply discredited. (Moreover, even if you listen to them ninety-eight times, the ninety-ninth time, when you say "no thanks", you'll be called a "sheep" again.) Additionally, they have no capacity for precis whatsoever. They go on and on at enormous length.

3. Inability to answer questions. For people who loudly advertise their determination to the principle of questioning everything, they're pretty poor at answering direct questions from sceptics about the claims that they make.

4. Fondness for certain stock phrases. These include Cicero's "cui bono?" (of which it can be said that Cicero understood the importance of having evidence to back it up) and Conan Doyle's "once we have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however unlikely, must be the truth". What these phrases have in common is that they are attempts to absolve themselves from any responsibility to produce positive, hard evidence themselves: you simply "eliminate the impossible" (i.e. say the official account can't stand scrutiny) which means that the wild allegation of your choice, based on "cui bono?" (which is always the government) is therefore the truth.

5. Inability to employ or understand Occam's Razor. Conspiracy theorists never notice that the small inconsistencies in the accounts which they reject are dwarfed by the enormous, gaping holes in logic, likelihood and evidence in any alternative account.

6. Inability to tell good evidence from bad. Conspiracy theorists have no place for peer-review, for scientific knowledge, for the respectability of sources. The fact that a claim has been made by anybody, anywhere, is enough for them to reproduce it and demand that the questions it raises be answered, as if intellectual enquiry were a matter of responding to every rumour. While they do this, of course, they will claim to have "open minds" and abuse the sceptics for apparently lacking same.

7. Inability to withdraw. It's a rare day indeed when a conspiracy theorist admits that a claim they have made has turned out to be without foundation, whether it be the overall claim itself or any of the evidence produced to support it. Moreover they have a liking for the technique of avoiding discussion of their claims by "swamping" - piling on a whole lot more material rather than respond to the objections sceptics make to the previous lot.

8. Leaping to conclusions. Conspiracy theorists are very keen indeed to declare the "official" account totally discredited without having remotely enough cause so to do. Of course this enables them to wheel on the Conan Doyle quote above. Small inconsistencies in the account of an event, small unanswered questions, small problems in timing of differences in procedure from previous events of the same kind are all more than adequate to declare the "official" account clearly and definitively discredited. It goes without saying that it is not necessary to prove that these inconsistencies are either relevant, or that they even definitely exist.

9. Using previous conspiracies as evidence to support their claims. This argument invokes scandals like the Birmingham Six, the Bologna station bombings, the Zinoviev letter and so on in order to try and demonstrate that their conspiracy theory should be accorded some weight (because it's “happened before”.) They do not pause to reflect that the conspiracies they are touting are almost always far more unlikely and complicated than the real-life conspiracies with which they make comparison, or that the fact that something might potentially happen does not, in and of itself, make it anything other than extremely unlikely.

10. It's always a conspiracy. And it is, isn't it? No sooner has the body been discovered, the bomb gone off, than the same people are producing the same old stuff, demanding that there are questions which need to be answered, at the same unbearable length. Because the most important thing about these people is that they are people entirely lacking in discrimination. They cannot tell a good theory from a bad one, they cannot tell good evidence from bad evidence and they cannot tell a good source from a bad one. And for that reason, they always come up with the same answer when they ask the same question.

A person who always says the same thing, and says it over and over again is, of course, commonly considered to be, if not a monomaniac, then at very least, a bore.

Prosecutors: Demjanjuk fit to stand trial

MUNICH – Doctors have determined that John Demjanjuk is fit to stand trial on charges that he was an accessory to murder at a Nazi death camp, prosecutors said Friday.

The doctors said the 89-year-old retired auto worker, recently deported from the United States, can stand trial so long as his time in court does not exceed two 90-minute sessions daily, Munich prosecutors said. They added that formal charges can be expected this month.

Demjanjuk is accused of being a guard at the Sobibor death camp in Nazi-occupied Poland during World War II. Prosecutors allege that he was an accessory to murder in 29,000 cases.

"We are very pleased that this will pave the way for him to be prosecuted in Germany," said Efraim Zuroff, the top Nazi hunter at the Simon Wiesenthal Center. "This has been a very complicated case, but it is important that Demjanjuk, who actively participated in the implementation of the Final Solution, finally receive an appropriate punishment," Zuroff said by telephone from Jerusalem.

Demjanjuk has been in custody in Munich since arriving there May 12 after losing a court battle to stay in the United States.
Demjanjuk's health was a key issue in that battle. His son, John Demjanjuk Jr. told The Associated Press in an e-mail that German doctors have determined his father has about 16 months to live, due to his incurable leukemic bone marrow disease.

"With less than (two) years for my father to live, a career-seeking German prosecutor is hastily pressing forward indicative of a 100 percent politically motivated effort to blame Ukrainians and Europeans for the crimes of the Germans," Demjanjuk Jr. wrote. "This has nothing to do with bringing anyone to justice or fitness for trial. My father will not live to fairly litigate the matter as (he) has successfully done before," he wrote.

Photos taken in April showed Demjanjuk (pronounced dem-YAHN'-yuk) wincing as immigration agents removed him from his home in Seven Hills, Ohio, during an earlier aborted attempt to deport him to Germany. Images taken days before and released by the U.S. government showed him entering his car unaided.

Demjanjuk says he was a Red Army soldier who spent World War II as a Nazi POW and never hurt anyone.
But Nazi-era documents obtained by U.S. justice authorities and shared with German prosecutors include a photo ID identifying Demjanjuk as a guard at the Sobibor death camp and say he was trained at an SS facility for Nazi guards at Trawniki, also in Poland.

Efforts to prosecute the Ukrainian native began in 1977 and have involved courts and government officials from at least five countries on three continents.

Charges of accessory to murder carry a maximum sentence of up to 15 years in prison in Germany.

Holocaust Museum Shooter Had Close Ties to Prominent neo-Nazis

Law enforcement officials have identified the suspect in the Holocaust Museum shootings as James Wenneker von Brunn, born in 1920, from the Eastern Shore of Maryland. D.C. Police Spokeswoman Traci Hughes reportedly said the suspect walked into the museum at about 1 p.m. ET with a rifle and shot a guard.

Von Brunn runs the website holywesternempire.org (the site has since been suspended), which was listed in 2008 as a hate site by the Southern Poverty Law Center. Von Brunn has a long history of associations with prominent neo-Nazis and Holocaust deniers. In the 1980s or early 1990s, von Brunn was employed by Noontide Press, a part of the Holocaust denying Institute of Historical Review, which was then run by Willis Carto, one of America’s most prominent anti-Semites.

Von Brunn is the author of the 1999 book, “Kill the Best Gentiles,” a racist and anti-Semitic tome that argues that whites are seeing “today on the world stage a tragedy of enormous proportions: the calculated destruction of the White Race and the incomparable culture it represents. Europe, former fortress of the West, is now over-run by hordes of non-Whites and mongrels.” A raging anti-Semite, von Brunn blames “The Jews” for the destruction of the West. The book is dedicated to prominent neo-Nazis and racists including Revilo Oliver and Wilmot Robertson.

In 2003, AP reported that von Brunn had painted a portrait of Rear Adm. John Crommelin, a raging anti-Semite who was a close associate of neo-Nazi William Pierce, whose book The Turner Diaries inspired Timothy McVeigh’s bombing of the Oklahoma City federal building.

On his website, von Brunn also claims that in 1981, while wearing a “London Fog raincoat to conceal his weapons,” he attempted to put the whole Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve under “legal, non-violent citizens-arrest.” He wanted “to bind their hands and persuade them to appear on television.” The website says he was sentenced to 11 years for his actions.

A raging anti-Semitic and racist posting on the website arsenalofhypocrisy.com attributed to “James Von Brunn” says that “the Federal Reserve Act (1913) gave JEWS control of America’s Money.” It also says that “America is a Third-World racial garbage dump–stupid, ignorant, dead-broke, and terminal.” It ends with, “Prepare to die, Whitey.”

Gunman Opens Fire Inside Holocaust Museum, Kills Security Guard

WASHINGTON -- A gunman opened fire inside the Holocaust Memorial Museum in the nation's capital Wednesday, shooting and killing a security guard before other officers returned fire and shot the assailant, officials said.

The museum released a statement late Wednesday afternoon confirming that 39-year-old Officer Stephen Tyrone Johns had died of his injuries. He had served on the museum's security staff for six years.

"There are no words to express our grief and shock over today's events," the statement said, adding that the museum would remain closed Thursday in his honor.

Police are looking at an elderly man identified as James Von Brunn as the shooter, FOX News has learned -- though D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier would not confirm the identity of the suspect.

The alleged shooter is the same James W. von Brunn who is a known white supremacist in his late 80s, MyFOXDC reported. He runs a Web site, Holy Western Empire, that carries several anti-Semitic statements.

Von Brunn was sentenced in 1983 to more than four years in prison for attempting to kidnap the Federal Reserve Board after a guard found him outside of a board meeting with a gun, knife and sawed-off shotgun.

Police said he wanted to take the board hostage because of high interest rates and the country's financial problems, MyFOXDC reported.

On his site, Von Brunn insists he was trying to place the board under "legal, non-violent citizens-arrest."

Law enforcement officials said Von Brunn's vehicle, found near the museum, was tested for explosives, and authorities were also raiding his home to check his computer and investigate the incident as a possible hate crime or domestic terrorism.

David Schlosser, a spokesman for the U.S. Park Police, said the gunman entered the museum shortly before 1 p.m. ET and shot the security guard, before two other security guards returned fire and wounded the shooter. Both the shooter and security guard, later identified as Johns, were then sent to a local hospital, he said.

Lanier said the gunman was carrying a rifle and used it immediately. "He raised the rifle and started shooting," she said. "The second he stepped into the building, he began firing."

Lanier told reporters the suspect appears to have been a "lone gunman," and that authorities received no prior threats.

"Our hearts and thoughts go out to the security guard and his family," D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty said at the press conference. Fenty said the gunman is in "critical condition" at the hospital.

President Obama was briefed and was "concerned" and "saddened" by the shooting, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said.

There were conflicting reports about how many people were wounded. Another law enforcement official earlier said three people had been shot.

Police and other law enforcement, including the FBI's Terrorism Task Force, had surrounded the museum site Wednesday afternoon.

Officials Arrest 4 in Alleged Plot to Bomb NYC Synagogue

Four people who plotted to bomb a New York City synagogue and shoot down military jets with Stinger missiles were arrested by U.S. agents, the U.S. Attorney’s office said in a statement today. Officials said the arrests came after a long-running undercover operation that began in Newburgh, N.Y.

Charges against the suspects, filed yesterday in federal court in New York, include conspiracy to use weapons of mass destruction in the U.S. and conspiracy to use anti-aircraft missiles, according to the statement.

The four people planned to bomb a synagogue in the Riverdale section of the Bronx and shoot military planes located at the New York Air National Guard base in Newburgh, New York, prosecutors said. The suspects dealt with a law enforcement informant in their attempts to obtain weapons, according to the statement.

Rep. Peter King of New York, the senior Republican on the House Homeland Security Committee, was briefed on the case following the arrests. ”This was a long, well-planned investigation, and it shows how real the threat is from homegrown terrorists,” said King.

Australian anti-Semite charged over YouTube videos

Police in Perth, Australia have charged a man in relation to the posting of anti-Semitic videos on YouTube. Footage shot by 39-year-old Brendan O’Connell sent waves of anguish throughout the city’s 9,000 strong Jewish community.

O’Connell took his viewers on a trip across the Swan River to a demonstration in South Perth being held by the Friends of Palestine, protesting outside an IGA supermarket selling Israeli Jaffa oranges. O’Connell told his “viewers” that he was hoping to find some Jews at the scene…and he did. He videoed himself harrassing two young Jewish men and creating an argumentative situation.

Keith Shilkin, President of the Jewish Community Council of Western Australia, commented to reporters: “News of the video on YouTube swept through the community causing great concern. Children at the Carmel Jewish day school have had counselling sessions…but we have had close liasons with the police who became quickly aware of the situation.”

The leader of the Friends of Palestine has distanced his group from O’Connell, breaking any association with the video-maker. Shilkin told J-Wire that whereas the Friends of Palestine had been very outspoken on their views of Israel and its politics, they had not entered into any anti-Jewish propaganda and had been of no trouble to the local community. He added: “The man has been a serial pest but the community was not overtly aware of him.”

O’Connell is only the second person to be charged under Western Australia’s anti-vilification laws. The charges relate to conduct intended to incite racial animosity or racist harrassment and carry a maximum penalty of 14 years’ imprisonment.

THE “ONE WORLD NAZI PARTY”?

Ever since the bizarre “fuhrer” of YouTube, John Alan Martinson Jr., closed down shop at the hate site Jewish Crime Network, this rag-tag misfit - who apparently can’t even afford a decent outfit and had to beg donations from his followers for a camcorder to record his videos - has popped up once again as the head of the redux known as the One World Nazi Party.

Martinson has managed to glean a following for his new endeavor, but has drawn a lot of ire from the one faction of antisemites that apparently he had hoped to align himself with - the mainstream white nationalist community. Somehow, Martinson wanted to convince them that together, they could fight the common enemy which, of course, is the age-old whipping boy when a society experiences hardships, economic downturns, and political upheavals - the Jews.

This writer hasn’t decided yet as of this posting whether or not the OWNP is intended to be the next “evolution” of antisemitism, or whether this is one giant scam by Martinson to try to bilk his fellow bigots out of gas and grocery money. Several of Martinson’s former associates at the JCN, including Scott Roberts, Adam Austin, and the YouTuber known as RV, have disassociated themselves from this new movement, and one has come out vocally, questioning Martinson’s motives and integrity.

Martinson, like most self-styled neo-nazis, suffers from Narcissistic Personality Disorder, or NPD. The definition is "a pervasive pattern of grandiosity, need for admiration, and a lack of empathy”. The way the man struts around like a peacock, demanding support and attention, the seeming lack of compassion for Holocaust victims, and his referring to Jews as “parasites” , “vermin”, and calling on U.S. troops in Iraq to go AWOL, return home, and in his words “turn their guns on the REAL problem” (aka Jews) - would definitely place him in that category.

One thing is certain - such infighting among these groups bodes well for us in the antifa movement. A lot of us have been working behind the scenes to combat this and other groups and movements, collecting information, flagging their YouTube, Facebook, Blogger, and mySpace accounts, and infiltrating their ranks to glean intel on their activities. It may sound strange, but where the OWNP is concerned, the best ally we may have in this fight are the white supremacist organizations themselves.

Many of the mainstream hate groups have openly rejected Martinson and his noveau nazi party on the basis of race. Martinson is from a multi-ethnic background, and that has caused a lot of tension among the internet pro-hate groups. It is probably what caused several YouTube neo-nazis including Scott Roberts to resign from the “board of directors” of the former Jewish Crime Network.

We must fight anti-semitism by all means at our disposal within the limits of the law. Any person or organization or country that engages in anti-semitic propaganda must be sued and prosecuted. The publication of anti-semitic propaganda in any media should be disqualified and prohibited. In countries where anti-semitism is rampant, its significance and dangers must be inculcated in the education system.

We must not be silent in the face of hate, whoever disseminates it. In a great part of the world there is legislation against anti-semitic propaganda, holocaust denial and the use of forbidden symbols (such as Nazi symbols). In those places where there is legislation we should make sure that the laws are enforced and offenders are punished. In those places where there is no legislation we must act to legislate against anti-semitism, as well as bigotry in all its forms.

Wesleyan Murder Suspect Wrote 'Kill Johanna,' 'OK to Kill Jews' in Journal

The man police say shot a Wesleyan University coed to death wrote "Kill Johanna. She must Die" and "I think it's ok to kill Jews and go on a killing spree" in his journal and left it at the crime scene, according to an arrest warrant. Stephen Morgan, 29, was charged with one count of murder and made his first court appearance Friday in the killing of 21-year-old Johanna Justin-Jinich — whom he allegedly shot dead on Wednesday while she was working at a bookstore cafe near campus. The warrant says Middletown, Conn., police found Morgan's journal at the scene, along with a wig he allegedly wore during the shooting and a gun.

His father described him as a loner who kept a diary and was known to make anti-Semitic comments, according to the warrant.

Morgan wore a blue prison jumpsuit and handcuffs during his Friday morning arraignment in Middletown Superior Court. At times during the proceedings, he hung his head, frowned or nodded. Morgan's bond was increased from $10 million to $15 million. Another hearing was scheduled for May 19.

Police said his composition book also had an entry dated May 6 at 11 a.m. — about two hours before Justin-Jinich was killed — that mentioned seeing all of the beautiful and smart people at Wesleyan, which is an elite private university.

Justin-Jinich, of Timnath, Colorado, came from a Jewish family, and her grandmother was a Holocaust survivor. The pair met two years ago during a summer program at New York University. Authorities in New York said Morgan and Justin-Jinich had known each other since at least 2007, when Justin-Jinich filed a harassment complaint against him while they were enrolled in a summer class at New York University. In the complaint filed in July of that year, Justin-Jinich said Morgan called her repeatedly and sent her insulting e-mails.

One of the e-mails warned: "You're going to have a lot more problems down the road if you can't take any (expletive) criticism, Johanna." Both were interviewed by university police, but Justin-Jinich decided not to press charges.

The Big Con Job - The Jewish Crime Network Web Site Closes its Doors

John Alan Martinson and his gang of thugs at the antisemitic web site Jewish Crime Network have closed up shop, announcing to anyone who would surf there (not many it seems) that they were shutting down due to lack of support, financial and otherwise.

It was music to this writer's ears.

The half-dozen miscreants and social rejects who ran the JCN had some big plans for the site. They claimed it was going to be the ultimate one-stop shop for all news related to the world's largest crime network - the people responsible for all the world's ills - the ones who orchestrated 9/11, the downfall of the white race, and your sister's teenage acne...that's right, folks...your local synagogue.

These haters got the chance to spew their Judeophobia and hate for a couple of months, then Martinson announced last week that the JCN was calling it quits due to lack of support. The contents of the site, which was hosted by GoDaddy though one of its proxy domain services, have been removed, much to my relief. There was some real vile content posted there. Martinsons personal web site (hosted by GoDaddy as well), johnalanmartinsonjr.com, has had it's antisemitic content removed as well, and it raises the question, at least to me...was it really a financial matter? Perhaps. But why remove the content if the URL(s) still works?

It's relatively inexpensive to keep a website up and running. A quick check of Godaddy's price list, and the setup the JCN had cost less than $100.00 a year, including his personal site. Most of the effort involved in a web site is the time spent keeping it maintained and updated. But another quick check of Martinson's personal web site tells another story...

From June through December 2008, Martinson received nearly $5500.00 in donations from his followers. In addition, he received a laptop, a digital camera, reference material, and clothing so he could appear "presentable" on camera. It appears as though a very small amount of the funds were actually spent maintaining the web site, and instead went towards gas and groceries, rent and perhaps - being the nutjob, antisemitic, conspiracy loonie he is - buying some more guns for his personal stash.

It's apparent that Martinson was just looking for people sympathetic to his "cause" to supplement his personal life. Like his predecessors, it was just another ripoff from another antisemitic con artist. Not only was he conning people into believing that Jews are responsible for every evil in the world, he was bilking his own friends and associates out of money. I guarantee, dear reader, that One-Eyed Jack will try it again, with another audience, another web site, and another scam.

Concern, criticism follow Venezuelan synagogue attack

(JTA) --International Jewish groups expressed concern after an attack on a Caracas synagogue and blamed Hugo Chavez for creating an atmosphere of hate in Venezuela.

Up to 15 people attacked the Tiferet Israel Sephardic synagogue late Friday night, throwing Torah scrolls on the floor and damaging some, according to reports. They also painted epithets such as "death to the Jews" on the synagogue's walls.

The synagogue's guard had been held at gunpoint and was found on the floor of the building by members on Saturday morning, the Jerusalem Post reported.

It is not the first such attack on Jewish institutions in the country, which broke off diplomatic relations with Israel over the Gaza military operation, according to The New York Times. In response, Israel expelled the Venezuelan envoy and his embassy staff last week.

The same synagogue was vandalized early last month. The Israeli embassy was also vandalized. A Jewish community center was raided in 2007 in a search for illegal weapons. None were found.

The government of President Hugo Chavez decried the attack, the Times reported.

Chavez and local media have been increasingly critical of Israel in the past week.

"The total disrespect of a Jewish house of worship reflects the escalating climate of hostility towards Jews in Venezuela," said David Harris, executive director of the American Jewish Committee.

Harris also said, "There are strong indications that what we are witnessing is a state-sponsored campaign of anti-Semitic persecution, spurred by both Venezuela's alliance with the Iranian regime and the surge of anti-Israel rhetoric during the recent conflict between Israel and Hamas."

Harris called on the international community to declare its solidarity with Venezuela's Jewish community.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center also blamed Chavez's demonization of Israel and the Jewish community as the catalyst for the synagogue attack and called on world leaders to denounce it.

"This was no mere hate crime from the margins of society, but a reflection of President Chavez's campaign to demonize Israel and her supporters,"said Rabbis Marvin Hier, the center's founder and dean, and Abraham Cooper, its associate dean, in a statement. "It is frightening to watch the inevitable consequences of Iran's chief ally in the Americas promotion of hatred of the Jewish people escalate into an attack, more reminiscent of Nazi Germany in 1938, than a democracy in 2009. The fact that the members of this synagogue stayed away from services this Friday night out of fear that the anti-Israel campaign had generated says it all."

B'nai B'rith International has asked the U.S. State Department to investigate the attack.

"This has got to stop," said B'nai B'rith Executive Vice President Daniel Mariaschin. "It is unacceptable for a government to incite hatred. Chavez has cultivated an environment where his followers feel comfortable threatening Jews."

Abraham Foxman, the national director of the Anti-Defamation League, called on Chavez to protect his country's Jewish community.

"Sadly, this is not a random event in Venezuela; it is directly related to the atmosphere of anti-Jewish intimidation promoted by President Chavez and his government apparatus," Foxman said.

Chavez, Foxman said, "must ensure that his government quickly brings the perpetrators to justice."

Gazans tell Israeli investigators of Hamas abuses

Nuaf Atar spoke about the use of Gazan schools to shoot rockets at Israel. Zabhi Atar revealed that Hamas used food coupons to entice Palestinians to join its ranks and Hamad Zalah said Hamas took control of UNRWA food supplies transferred to Gaza and refused to distribute them to people affiliated with Fatah.

These are three examples of testimony from Hamas and Islamic Jihad men who were captured by the IDF during Operation Cast Lead. Details of their interrogations have been released for publication by the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency).

More than 100 Palestinians were captured during the three-week operation but most were released and only a few dozen - members of Hamas and other terrorist factions - are still being held by Israel, officials said. Some of them may be used as bargaining chips in negotiations for abducted soldier Gilad Schalit.

Nuaf Atar, 25, lives in Atatra, in the northwest Gaza Strip, and was captured by paratroopers on January 11. In his interrogation by the Shin Bet, Atar said Hamas government officials "took over" humanitarian aid Israel allowed in to the Strip and sold it, when it is supposed to be distributed for free.

Hamas set up rocket launchers and fired rockets into Israel from within school compounds since the operatives knew that the Israel Air Force would not bomb the schools, he said.

Palestinians who opposed Hamas's use of their land and homes as launch pads were shot in the legs, Atar added.

"Atar's testimony is evidence of Hamas's cynical use of public institutions, such as schools, to attack Israel," the Shin Bet said.

Another fascinating account was provided by Raji Abed Rabo, a 22-year-old member of Islamic Jihad and resident of the Jabalya refugee camp in northern Gaza. Abed Rabo told interrogators he was recruited into the organization at the age of 17 and began by distributing anti-Israel propaganda.

In 2006, he joined the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and underwent military training. In 2007 he returned to Islamic Jihad and was recruited to the Jabalya cell. His job was to conduct reconnaissance and gather intelligence on IDF movements along the Gaza border.

He stored weaponry in his house, including roadside bombs, and was knew of a number of tunnels that were to be used to kidnap and surprise IDF soldiers. He also told the Shin Bet about a large bunker that was built under Shifa Hospital in Gaza City and was used as a hideout for a number of senior Hamas operatives during the recent Israeli offensive.

Hamad Zalah, 29, is also a resident of Jabalya and was captured by the IDF on January 12. During his interrogation, he revealed that together with his brother, he was tortured by Hamas at a headquarters in Jabalya for his affiliation with Fatah and his intention to light a memorial candle for Yasser Arafat.

He said that he was whipped and beaten with electrical cords. In 2007, Hamas operatives shot and killed his brother, who was a security guard at the home of a Palestinian Authority official in Gaza.

Since June 2007, when Hamas took over Gaza, the terror group, Zalah said, also took control of all humanitarian aid sent into the Strip and refused to distribute it to Palestinians affiliated with Fatah.

Amad Hamed, 35, resides in Beit Hanun, and was arrested by the IDF on January 5. In his interrogation he told the Shin Bet that in 2006 he started conducting surveillance for Hamas and training to perpetrate a suicide attack against Israel.

Two of Hamed's brothers were killed by the IDF in Gaza in 2006 and 2007. Hamed told his interrogators about a Hamas training camp in a sports club next to a mosque in Khan Yunis in southern Gaza, and another camp opposite the Beit Hanun municipal building.

Three months ago, Hamed gave his approval to place barrels of explosives, rockets and launchers in land that belongs to his family in Beit Hanun.

Jewish Charities Shut Down Following Madoff 'Ponzi Scheme' Wipeout

Jewish philanthropies wiped out by the Bernard Madoff "Ponzi scheme" are closing their doors, the latest victims of an alleged $50 billion investment scam whose fallout continues to shock investors.

The Chais Family Foundation, a California-based charity that distributed about $12.5 million annually, was forced to shut down after investing — and losing — all of its money with the one-time wizard of Wall Street.

"I can confirm that the Chais foundation has closed," its president, Avraham Infeld, told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency. "All of its funds were exposed with Mr. Madoff. We have made a decision regrettably and with much pain to close down the foundation."

The Chais Foundation, which fired its five staffers Sunday, became the second Jewish charity to go under since news broke of Madoff's arrest for alleged securities fraud. Madoff, the former chairman of Nasdaq, told the FBI Thursday that his investment plans were "all just one big lie" and "basically a giant Ponzi scheme."

The Boston-based Robert I. Lappin Charitable Foundation, which paid to send Jewish youths to Israel, fired its four staff members Friday and revealed that the money for its operations had also been invested with Madoff.

"It is with a heavy heart that I make this announcement," said Robert I. Lappin, the foundation's trustee. "The Foundation's programs have touched thousands of lives over many years in our efforts to help keep our children Jewish."

Many charities have been devastated by Madoff's unparalleled investment failure, which paid off false returns to investors and went unnoticed by many observers for more than a decade. Billionaire Mort Zuckerman, CEO of Boston Properties and owner of the New York Daily News, told FOX News that his charitable trust lost $30 million because of Madoff's mishandling.

"This money was provided to the charitable trust by me to be given out to charity, not to be wasted by some irresponsible fund manager" who handed over all of the investments to be managed by Madoff, Zuckerman said. "To put it all in the hands of one man, this man Madoff ... I find that astounding."

"There were a lot of very sophisticated people who were duped, and that happens a great deal when you've had somebody decide to be unscrupulous," said Harvey Pitt, a former chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, a regulatory agency in charge of monitoring investment funds like Madoff's.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Stephen Spielberg's charity, the Wunderkinder Foundation, had invested heavily with Madoff. The Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity, founded by the famed Holocaust survivor and writer, was also hard hit by losses, the paper said, according to two people familiar with the organization's investments.

The extent of the potential damage prompted a leading fund manager in London to lash out at U.S. regulators for failing to detect the fraud earlier.

"I think now it is very difficult for people to invest in things that are meant to be regulated in America, because they have fallen down in the job," Nicola Horlick, the manager of Bramdean Alternatives, which has 9 percent of its funds invested in Madoff's scheme, told the British Broadcasting Corp.

"All through the credit crunch this has been apparent," Horlick added. "This is the biggest financial scandal, probably, in the history of the markets."
New Jersey Sen. Frank Lautenberg, one of the wealthiest members of the Senate, entrusted his family's charitable foundation to Madoff. Lautenberg's attorney, Michael Griffinger, said they weren't yet sure the extent of the foundation's losses, but that the bulk of its investments had been handled by Madoff.

Lautenberg's foundation handed out more than $765,000 to at least 100 recipients in 2006, according to the most recent listing on Guidestar, which tracks charitable organization filings.
Some overseas institutions were even harder hit, revealing the scope of their losses Monday. Banco Santander, the largest bank in the euro zone by market capitalization, said its clients have $3.07 billion in exposure with Madoff, mostly through a fund called Optimal Strategic US Equity.
HSBC, Britain's largest bank, said a "small number" of its institutional clients had exposure totaling some $1 billion in Madoff funds.

It added that it has custody clients who have invested with Madoff, but it did not believe those "custodial arrangements should be a source of exposure to the group."

Royal Bank of Scotland — Britain's second-largest bank, which is now 58 percent owned by the British government — said it could lose around $600 million through exposure in trading and collateralized lending to funds of hedge funds invested with Bernard L Madoff Investment Securities LLC.

Man Group, the world's largest publicly traded fund manager that reported exposure of around $360 million on Monday, said "it appears that a systematic and comprehensive fraud may have been committed, evading a range of structural controls."

Japan's Nomura Holdings said it has $306 million in exposure, but added that any losses were likely to be limited compared to its capital base.

French banks foresee nearly 1 billion euros in potential losses as indirect victims of the alleged fraud.

White Supremacist Leader Indicted on Federal Charges for Threats, Witness Intimidation

ROANOKE, Va. — A white supremacist leader has been indicted on federal changes for making threats to five individuals and attempting to intimidate witnesses in a federal housing discrimination lawsuit, the Justice Department announced Thursday.
William White, the self-proclaimed commander of the neo-Nazi group the American National Socialist Workers Party, was charged with five counts of communicating threats in interstate commerce, one count of communicating an extortionate threat in interstate commerce and one count of witness intimidation.

The 31-year-old was also recently indicted in the Northern District of Illinois for soliciting the murder of a former federal juror.

The new indictment alleges that, from late 2006 through mid 2008, White terrorized individuals with whom he disagreed on either racial or personal issues. He is accused of making late-night telephone calls to the victims' homes, writing victims threatening e-mails and posting victims' contact and personal information on neo-Nazi Web sites, sometimes accompanied by language advocating their murder.

He also allegedly sent letters to the homes of individuals involved in a federal housing discrimination lawsuit which included racial epithets and threatened consequences for their participation in the suit.
If found guilty, White faces a maximum of 55 years in prison as well as a potential fine of up to $250,000 for each charge.

Muslim Charity, Leaders Convicted on Charges of Funding Terror

DALLAS - A Muslim charity and five of its former leaders were convicted Monday of funneling millions of dollars to the Palestinian militant group Hamas, finally handing the government a signature victory in its fight against terrorism funding.

U.S. District Judge Jorge A. Solis announced the guilty verdicts on all 108 counts on the eighth day of deliberations in the retrial of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development, once the nation's largest Muslim charity. It was the biggest terrorism financing case since the attacks of Sept. 11. The convictions follow the collapse of Holy Land's first trial last year and defeats in other cases the government tried to build. President George W. Bush had personally announced the freezing of Holy Land's assets in 2001, calling the action "another step in the war on terrorism."

Ghassan Elashi, Holy Land's former chairman, and Shukri Abu-Baker, the chief executive, were convicted of a combined 69 counts, including supporting a specially designated terrorist, money laundering and tax fraud. Mufid Abdulqader and Abdulrahman Odeh were convicted of three counts of conspiracy, and Mohammed El-Mezain was convicted of one count of conspiracy to support a terrorist organization. Holy Land itself was convicted of all 32 counts.

A sentencing date hasn't been scheduled, but the punishments could be steep. Supporting a terrorist organization carries a maximum 15-year sentence on each count; money laundering carries a maximum 20 years on each conviction. Solis ordered the Holy Land leaders detained, citing the long prison terms they may face and their ties to the Middle East. Holy Land was accused of giving more than $12 million to support Hamas. The seven-week retrial ran about as long as the original, which ended in October 2007 when a judge declared a mistrial on most charges.

The U.S. designated Hamas a terrorist organization in 1995 and again in 1997, making contributions to the group illegal. Government officials raided Holy Land's headquarters in December 2001 and shut it down. Prosecutors labeled Holy Land's benefactors ‚Äî called zakat committees ‚Äî as terrorist recruiting pools. The charities, the government argued, spread Hamas' violent ideology and generated loyalty and support among Palestinians.

A chaotic courtroom scene ended last year's original trial, which lasted nearly two months and kept jurors deliberating for 19 days. But they deadlocked on many counts, and when a judge polled the panel about other verdicts, some disavowed their vote. The confusing finish led U.S. District Judge A. Joe Fish to declare a mistrial, and leaders of the defunct charity rushed outside to celebrate.

Observers last year panned the government for presenting a bloated case too complicated for jurors to follow. Prosecutors responded this year by dropping nearly 60 charges in the trial and tightening their narrative to jurors, even offering a kind of road map to help the panel follow the money. Two other high-profile terror-financing trials in Chicago and Florida ended without convictions on the major counts.

'Israel Liberation Week' Comes to Berkeley

The Zionist Freedom Alliance, a campus-based Jewish rights organization in the United States, has surprised many supporters and opponents by bringing "Israel Liberation Week" to the University of California at Berkeley. UC Berkeley has long been a bastion of left-wing political activism in America and is seen by many in the pro-Israel community as a hub of anti-Zionist hostility.

ZFA bills itself as the only student organization asserting Israel’s national rights on American college campuses and has been known to take stands in defense of the often-maligned Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria. While many ZFA student activists identify as politically left on the American political spectrum, all members of the organization advocate that Judea and Samaria belong solely to the Jewish people and that no foreign state should be established between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea.

Films, exhibits, concerts and educational campaigns will highlight the Jewish underground battles against British rule in the 1940s and will also promote the message that the United Nations behaves as an enemy to the State of Israel and works to intensify the conflict rather than resolve it. The campaign being featured this week at Berkeley is one called “UN out of Israel – Israel out of the UN.”

"Israel Liberation Week" at Berkeley is being organized personally by ZFA leaders Yehuda HaKohen and Eliyahu Chaim, who host "The Struggle" on Israel National Radio. The week-long event also took place last week at the University of Albany, where ZFA called for an end to US foreign aid.

When asked to explain the difference between running such a program at Albany and Berkeley, HaKohen – who himself lives on the east side of Jerusalem – answered that “Albany is a good place for us to spread our message of Jewish national rights, but Berkeley is one of the campuses that sets the political tone for college activism throughout the country. It’s a much more active and much more relevant school in that regard. ‘Israel Liberation Week’ at Albany succeeded in educating the campus to Jewish national rights and the suffering our people have endured due to United States pressure on our leaders [to surrender territory]. At Berkeley we hope to open the minds of idealistic liberal college students to the inherent justice of the Zionist Revolution.”

Before the week even began, posters of martyred Jewish underground fighter Moshe Barazani covered the Berkeley campus with the slogan “Who is Barazani?” When the buzz over the mysterious posters reached its peak, student activists covered the campus with new posters featuring a short biography of Barazani and the "Israel Liberation Week" logo.

Already at the beginning of the week, anti-Israel activists began challenging the message of Jewish liberation with a list of dubious claims. One Jewish member of the SJP (Students for Justice in Palestine) argued that there is no such thing as a Jewish nation and that Jews have no claim to any territory anywhere. Another SJP student accused ZFA of usurping the imagery of revolution and the language of national liberation to promote a Zionist agenda. The focus of her frustration was a shirt featuring the face of Lehi leader Yair Stern with the word “revolution” written underneath.

Gabe Weiner of the local ZFA chapter told Israel National News that the source of the SJP’s anger is that they are unequipped to counter the Zionist message. “These people are used to coming up against pro-Israel advocacy groups with either neo-Conservative or apologetic messages. They’ve never encountered a Zionist movement that speaks in the language of national liberation. One of their members resorted to trying to physically intimidate Yehuda [HaKohen], but when that attempt backfired, they were really left with nothing.

“The ZFA message works on a campus like Berkeley much better than the messages put forward by other groups,” he continued. “We’re actually fighting for a passionate cause and that resonates with students here. Even students who otherwise disagree with Israel’s existence.”

Union of Good has Hamas Ties?

A Dallas, Texas jury has gone into deliberation following closing arguments in a landmark case that will determine if the Holy Land Foundation is a legitimate charity organization for Palestinian Authority schools or a front to fund Hamas terrorism. Last year, the case ended in a mistrial.

Prosecutor Barry Jonas told the jurors to make their decision without political considerations. "You are not going to decide who is right and who is wrong in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict," he said.

Jonas replayed for the jury videos of Hamas fundraisers, including songs and lyrics that glorify Jihad. "If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, it's a duck," he declared. "This was a Hamas rally. Who are we kidding?"

"They were part of a larger plan to eliminate the State of Israel and take over their land," Jonas charged. "By supporting Hamas, they helped create widows and orphans. Find them guilty."

Defense lawyers pleaded that the $12 million given by Holy Land to PA schools was earmarked for relief work for Arabs "under Israeli occupation," a phrase that prosecutors said was being used to distract jurors from the evidence.

Holy Land lawyer Theresa Duncan argued that stressing the "occupation" was not a distraction but an essential part of the argument that the funds were provided as a "religious obligation" to help people suffering stress.

"This case has always been about charity," she said. "This case is not about exploiting needs for a political agenda."

Jonas responded that the government believes in supporting charity, but "the bottom line is: it's illegal to give money to Hamas."

Although the United States has declared Hamas a terrorist organization, Holy Land officials never "advocated for the destruction of Israel," according to Duncan.

In a separate case, the Treasury Department ordered a freeze on Wednesday on any funds allocated for the Union of Good charity organization, which "acts as a broker" for Hamas, according to officials.

Government officials charged, "Some of the funds transferred by the Union of Good have compensated Hamas terrorists by providing payments to the families of suicide bombers."

Woman Shot Dead Trying to Leave KKK Initiation

NEW ORLEANS, La. — An Oklahoma woman who was lured over the Internet to take part in a Ku Klux Klan initiation was shot and killed after the ritual went awry, and the group tried to cover it up by dumping her body on a rural roadside and setting her belongings aflame, authorities said.

But the plan failed: By Tuesday, a local Klan leader sat in jail on a second-degree murder charge, and seven others were charged with trying to help conceal the crime.

"I can't imagine anyone feeling endangered or at risk by any one of these kooks. The IQ level of this group is not impressive, to be kind," St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Jack Strain said Tuesday.

The woman, whose identity was not released, was supposed to be initiated near the village of Sun, La. and then return to her home state to find other members for the white supremacist group, Strain said.

It wasn't clear what rites awaited her at the campsite, but authorities believe the initiation had begun by the time the shooting happened. Strain said the group's leader, Raymond "Chuck" Foster, 44, shot and killed her Sunday night after a fight broke out when she asked to be taken back to town.

Foster was charged with second-degree murder and is being held without bond. Capt. George Bonnett, a spokesman for the sheriff's department, said he doesn't know if Foster has an attorney.

Seven others — five men and two women ages 20 to 30 — were charged with obstruction of justice and were held on $500,000 bond at the St. Tammany Parish jail. All eight of the suspects live in neighboring Washington Parish, but Bonnett said he couldn't immediately identify their hometowns.

Authorities said some of the suspects tried to destroy evidence by burning the woman's belongings along with other items. At the campsite, investigators found weapons, several flags and six Klan robes, some emblazoned with patches reading "KKK LIFE MEMBER" or "KKK SECURITY Enforcement."

Strain said the woman arrived in the Slidell, La., area last week and was met by two people connected to the Klan group and taken to the campsite on the banks of the Pearl River, about 60 miles north of New Orleans.

"We haven't completely sorted out if they finished the initiation," Bonnett said, adding he wasn't aware of any other KKK-related cases during his three years with the department. "I assume that they had started it, but I don't know if they were finished."

Authorities said the group's members called themselves the "Dixie Brotherhood." Mark Pitcavage, director of investigative research for the Anti-Defamation League, said the Dixie Brotherhood appears to be a small, loosely organized group of people.

"This is not what I would call an established Klan group," he said. "The Klan has a pretty high association with violence. Some of these guys are just crooks, sociopaths."

Child Stoned in Somalia

MOGADISHU, Somalia — A 13-year-old girl who said she had been raped was stoned to death in Somalia after being accused of adultery by Islamic militants, a human rights group said.

Dozens of men stoned Aisha Ibrahim Duhulow to death Oct. 27 in a stadium packed with 1,000 spectators in the southern port city of Kismayo, Amnesty International and Somali media reported, citing witnesses. The Islamic militia in charge of Kismayo had accused her of adultery after she reported that three men had raped her, the rights group said.

Initial local media reports said Duhulow was 23, but her father told Amnesty International she was 13. Some of the Somali journalists who first reported the killing later told Amnesty International that they had reported she was 23 based upon her physical appearance.

Calls to Somali government officials and the local administration in Kismayo rang unanswered Saturday.

"This child suffered a horrendous death at the behest of the armed opposition groups who currently control Kismayo," David Copeman, Amnesty International's Somalia campaigner, said in a statement Friday.

Somalia is among the world's most violent and impoverished countries. The nation of some 8 million people has not had a functioning government since warlords overthrew a dictator in 1991 then turned on each other.

A quarter of Somali children die before age 5; nearly every public institution has collapsed. Fighting is a daily occurrence, with violent deaths reported nearly every day.

Islamic militants with ties to Al Qaeda have been battling the government and its Ethiopian allies since their combined forces pushed the Islamists from the capital in December 2006. Within weeks of being driven out, the Islamists launched an insurgency that has killed thousands of civilians.

In recent months, the militants appear to be gaining strength. The group has taken over the port of Kismayo, Somalia's third-largest city, and dismantled pro-government roadblocks. They also effectively closed the Mogadishu airport by threatening to attack any plane using it.

Plotter Against Obama Was Member of Supreme White Alliance

Daniel Cowart, one of the two men arrested Friday in an alleged plot to assassinate Barack Obama and murder more than 100 people, was a member of a racist skinhead group formed earlier this year. The group, the Supreme White Alliance (SWA), posted a note after the arrests saying that a “probate” member — clearly Cowart, although the site didn’t mention his name — had been booted out some time ago.

Cowart, in fact, is described as “member #3” of the SWA on the group’s Ning site (Ning is a social networking site), meaning he was the third to sign up for an account on that site. In “Daniel Cowart’s Supreme White Alliance page,” Cowart describes himself as “easy going and easy to get along with, as long as you are White!” In addition, the photo above that is posted on the site shows Cowart at a birthday party held for Adolf Hitler last April along with others linked to the SWA, where the group is displaying a birthday cake marked with its SWA acronym.

It’s not clear if Cowart’s alleged partner, Paul Schlesselman, was a member or associate of the group. The SWA posting suggests that he is not.

The two men were arrested after federal agents uncovered what they described as a plot to go on a multi-state “killing spree.” In an affidavit, the ATF said that the two, both of whom it described as holding “strong” white supremacist beliefs, had met via the Internet in late September. They later got together and allegedly decided to kill 88 people, followed by beheading another 14 African Americans. (The numbers are neo-Nazi codes representing white supremacist slogans.) Officials said they also intended to target a predominantly black high school, a gun store, and individuals who they planned to rob to raise money. The final act, according to the affidavit, was to come when both men dressed in white tuxedoes and top hats and attempted to shoot Obama as they drove toward him while shooting through the windows, agents said. Both men fully expected to die in their final attack.

The SWA Ning site also carries a page showing “Daniel’s Friends,” belonging to Daniel Cowart, that lists as a friend Steven Edwards (posting as “Stevenfuckit08″), the current president of SWA. Edwards is the son of Ron Edwards, who is the imperial wizard, or national leader, of the Imperial Klans of America (IKA), based in Kentucky. Civil Rights organizations are currently involved in litigation with Ron Edwards and the IKA over the beating of a teenage boy in 2006. The case is scheduled for trial on Nov. 12.

Government Foils Skinhead Plot to Assassinate Obama

Federal agents have disrupted a plot to assassinate Barack Obama and shoot or decapitate dozens of black students in Tennessee, the ATF said Monday.

In court records unsealed Monday, federal agents said they disrupted plans to rob a gun store and target a predominantly African-American high school by two neo-Nazi skinheads. Agents said the skinheads did not identify the school by name.

A source in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives told FOX News that the two skinheads, who were picked up in Crockett County, Tenn., were plotting to shoot 88 black students and decapitate 14 others described as non-whites. The source said officials believe the suspects were planning to attempt an assassination against Obama.

The numbers 88 and 14 are symbolic in the white supremacist community.

But officials could not describe how advanced or credible the plot was, nor could they say if they had contacted the Obama campaign.

Jim Cavanaugh, special agent in charge of the Nashville field office for the ATF, said the suspects also sought to go on a national killing spree, with Obama as its final target.

"They said that would be their last, final act -- that they would attempt to kill Sen. Obama," Cavanaugh said. "They didn't believe they would be able to do it, but that they would get killed trying."

Obama spokesman Bill Burton said the campaign would have no comment on the alleged plot.

The men, Daniel Cowart, 20, of Bells, Tenn., and Paul Schlesselman 18, of West Helena, Ark., are being held without bond. Agents seized a rifle, a sawed-off shotgun and three pistols from the men when they were arrested. Authorities alleged the two men were preparing to break into a gun shop to steal more.

Attorney Joe Byrd, who has been hired to represent Cowart, did not immediately return a call seeking comment Monday.

Cowart and Schlesselman are charged with possessing an unregistered firearm, conspiring to steal firearms from a federally licensed gun dealer, and threatening a candidate for president.

Iran Arming Terrorist Militias

Iran is supplying weapons to "liberation armies" in the Middle East, a top Revolutionary Guards commander said, offering the first official confirmation the country provides weapons to armed groups in the region.

Gen. Hossein Hamedani, deputy commander of a volunteer militia that is part of the elite Revolutionary Guards, did not provide specific details in the report on the state-run Borna news. The U.S. military has accused Iran of arming Shiite militias in Iraq, and Iran is widely believed to provide weapons to Lebanon's militant Shiite Hezbollah group.

"Not only are our armed forces self-sufficient, liberation armies of the region get part of their weapons from us," Hamedani said, according to the report on Borna's Web site late Sunday.

In the past, Iran — a majority Shiite country — has denied arming Hezbollah, saying it only provided political and financial support. The Iranian government has also denied providing weapons or financial support to Shiite militants fighting U.S. forces in Iraq.

But the U.S. military has said it has evidence that elements of the Mahdi army, an Iraqi militia loyal to anti-American Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, have been armed by Iran.

Hamedani also said Iran has no shortage of advanced missile systems. "Our chemical engineers have upgraded Iran's missile capability," he was quoted as saying.

Hamedani didn't elaborate, but Iranian officials have said they successfully tested a solid fuel motor for the medium-range Shahab-3 ballistic missile, a technological breakthrough for Iran.

Experts say solid fuel increases the accuracy of missiles in reaching targets. But many in the West have expressed doubt about Iran's professed military accomplishments.

Iran launched an arms development program during its 1980-88 war with Iraq to compensate for a U.S. weapons embargo. Since 1992, Iran has produced its own tanks, armored personnel carriers, missiles and a fighter plane.

Anti-Semitic Conspiracy Theories Spread Globally As World Markets Grapple With Financial Crisis

Conspiracy theories linking Jews and Israel to the global financial meltdown are taking on global reach as the financial crisis on Wall Street continues to affect markets around the world.

According to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), which first reported a spike in anti-Semitic postings on U.S. financial Web sites, "anti-Jewish invective and conspiracy theories are spreading globally" in European and Latin American countries and the Middle East as a result of the global economic crisis.

One widely circulated conspiracy theory suggests that "$400 billion in funds was secretly transferred to Israeli banks" just prior to the collapse of Lehman Brothers and other major investment banks. Launched on an anti-Semitic Web site sponsored by a Washington, DC-based Holocaust denial publication, the false rumor has ricocheted across the Internet and around the world, appearing on numerous Web sites and comment boards with few questioning its veracity or citing its origins.

"One disturbing side effect to the global economic meltdown is the resurgence of the Big Lie," said Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director. "Anti-Jewish invective and conspiracy theories are spreading globally. While it is still early, we know from experience what can happen when anti-Jewish myths gain a foothold and move from the far fringes into the mainstream."

Mr. Foxman pointed to similarities between the "$400 billion" conspiracy theory and the myth that spread around the world after 9/11 -- that "4,000 Jews" did not report for work the day of the attack on the World Trade Center – which is today believed by many around the world. "Whenever world events are difficult to explain or understand, Jews are the most convenient scapegoat," said Mr. Foxman.

"This belief that only Jews could be responsible for something so catastrophic and damaging to the global economy plays directly into some of the worst anti-Semitic stereotypes," said Mr. Foxman. "The idea that there is Jewish control of the banking system and the world economy has its antecedents in the Protocols of the Elders of Zion and Nazi-era propaganda."

International Response: Europe and Latin America

Anti-Semitic expressions in response to the financial crisis are spreading in European and Latin American countries, with many appearing on Web sites as articles or comments from unidentified individuals who are angry and seeking to place blame for the spreading impact of the crisis. Some are accompanied by vicious anti-Semitic caricatures and images.

The following is a snapshot of the global anti-Semitic reaction that has emerged as a result of the ongoing financial crisis as compiled by ADL:

• United Kingdom: The Web site of the mainstream British newspaper, The Independent, featured in its comments section a post by a visitor identifying himself as "Errol Flynn" that repeated the claim about the alleged $400 billion transfer from Lehman Brothers to Israeli banks. In response to a second article on the economic crisis, another reader commented, "So the banks used to be Jewish-owned … has anything changed?" Both posts were eventually removed by the site's administrators.

• Russia: The Web site of Pravda newspaper published an article arguing that French, German and Italian leaders are advocating a bailout of European banks to benefit "Rothschild, Kuhn Loeb, and other banking magnates," a reference to well-known Jewish banking families. The article continued, "The trouble is most of Europe is sick of their Zionist puppet governments, the wrecking of the universities and the flood of third world immigration. Another Hitler, running a united Europe, could be elected in a heartbeat."

• Germany: Some discussion forums and blogs made casual linkage between the crisis and Jews or repeated anti-Semitic stereotypes of the "money-savvy" and "financially dominating Jew." One comment on Ariva.de, an independent provider of financial news, stated: "When it comes to money Jews are always in the say."

• Spain: Op-eds making reference to Jews and the financial crisis appeared in diario El Pais. While the articles did not directly accuse Jews of causing the crisis, the comments section following the articles contained several anti-Semitic entries. One writer declared, "The crisis is not a financial problem but an economic one … it is what is behind this gruesome scene of savage capitalism of the Zionist students of Milton Friedman." Additionally, several financial Web sites featured articles with anti-Jewish themes, including one stating that "Lehman's management board is made up of Jews who were only interested in results no matter at what price." • Venezuela: The host of a virulently anti-Semitic radio program claims that the fact that the U.S. Congress recessed for the Jewish High Holidays after voting on the $700 billion bailout proposal was evidence "that the U.S. government is controlled by the Jewish lobby."

Conspiracy theory faults Jews for Lehman Brothers' collapse

A new anti-Semitic conspiracy theory has been spreading online over the last few days, claiming that on the eve of Lehman Brothers' collapse last month, the firm transferred $400 billion to Israel.

The theory, which comes in the form of a news report, has already been distributed on dozens of anti-Semitic and anti-Israeli sites. It alleges that senior Jewish officials at the Lehman Brothers investment bank passed their clients' money on to three Israeli banks, with the intention of then escaping to Israel to enjoy the take without fear of extradition.

Since the collapse of Lehman Brothers, which was founded in the United States by Jewish immigrants from Germany in 1850, Web forums and comment pages have been flooded with anti-Semitic comments accusing Jews of causing the global economic crisis and branding them the greatest beneficiaries of the disaster. Such statements are especially common on clearly racist sites, but can also be found on more popular mainstream sites.

The Anti-Defamation League in the U.S. and other international bodies monitoring anti-Semitism have documented hundreds of such cases in the past two weeks.

A number of Islamic organizations, including Hamas in Gaza - which called the economic crisis America's punishment for its bad deeds - have joined the chorus and accused the Jewish lobby of causing the crisis.

But the allegation of the transfer of $400 billion of Lehman Brothers' cash to Israel is much more focused. The story making the rounds was written as if it were a news report from Washington, and has a byline of the "Voice of the White House." The story names three Israeli banks that allegedly received the money, explains in detail Israel's extradition laws and bank-secrecy act, and charges American law-enforcement authorities of having knowledge of the transfer. It also cites excerpts from a real story that appeared on the Bloomberg economic news service wire about estimated losses of $400 billion in the brokerage division of the investment bank.

The "story" first appeared a week ago on the Web site of Jeff Rense, a former journalist who has published numerous conspiracy theories involving Jews, Israel and the American administration.

Since then, it has been picked up and posted on dozens of sites and anti-Semitic blogs. Surfers who read it tried to copy it to more respectable forums and comment pages such as The Huffington Post in the U.S. and The Independent in Britain.

The conspiracy theory is reminiscent of past allegations about Jews, ranging from the czarist-era "Protocols of the Elders of Zion" to the widely circulated libel that the Israeli Mossad knew in advance about the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center and warned all of the complex's Jewish employees not to come to work that morning.

Twenty-Year Plan: Islam Targets America

When we immigrated from Jerusalem, Jordan* in January, 1967, little did I imagine that Islam would become center-stage in world news. As my sincere interest in the growth of Islam in America intensified, I began to discuss, dialogue, and then debate Muslim leaders throughout the world from an Arab Christian's view of Islam. So far, I have had the privilege of participating in over 20 debates and discussions on every continent plus T.V. and radio. "Islam Revealed" was released in 1988 and is now in its 8th printing. The True Furqan is now in its third printing in the three years it has been published. It is the only book which challenges the Quran in substance, style, language and contents. This is my analysis of the Islamic invasion of America, the agenda of Islamists and visible methods to take over America by the year 2020! Will Americans continue to sleep through this invasion as they did when we were attacked on 9/11?

1. Terminate America's freedom of speech by replacing it with hate crime bills state-wide and nation-wide.

2. Wage a war of words using black leaders like Louis Farrakhan, Rev. Jesse Jackson and other visible religious personalities to promote Islam as the original African-American's religion while Christianity is for the whites! Strange enough, no one tells the African-Americans that it was the Arab Muslims who captured them and sold them as slaves, neither the fact that in Arabic the word for black and slave is the same, "Abed."

3. Engage the American public in dialogues, discussions, debates in colleges, universities, public libraries, radio, TV, churches and mosques on the virtues of Islam. Proclaim how it is historically another religion like Judaism and Christianity with the same monotheistic faith.

4. Nominate Muslim sympathizers to political office for favorable legislation to Islam and support potential sympathizers by block voting.

5. Take control of as much of Hollywood, the press, TV, radio and the internet by buying the corporations or a controlling stock.

6. Yield to the fear of imminent shut-off of the lifeblood of America - the black gold. America's economy depends on oil, (1000 products are derived from oil), so does its personal and industrial transportation and manufacturing -41% comes from the Middle East.

7. Yell, "foul, out-of-context, personal interpretation, hate crime, Zionist, un- American, inaccurate interpretation of the Quran" anytime Islam is criticized or the Quran is analyzed in the public arena.

8. Encourage Muslims to penetrate the White House, specifically with Islamists who can articulate a marvelous and peaceful picture of Islam. Acquire government positions, get membership in local school boards. Train Muslims as medical doctors to dominate the medical field, research and pharmaceutical companies. Take over the computer industry. Establish Middle Eastern restaurants throughout the U.S. to connect planners of Islamization in a discreet way. Ever notice how numerous Muslim doctors in America are, when their countries need them more desperately than America?

9. Accelerate Islamic demographic growth via:

a. Massive immigration (100,000 annually since 1961)

b. No birth control whatsoever - every baby of Muslim parents is automatically a Muslim and cannot choose another religion later.

c. Muslim men must marry American women and Islamize them (10,000 annually). Then divorce them and remarry every five years - since one cannot have the Muslim legal permission to marry four at one time. This is a legal solution in America.

d. Convert angry, alienated black inmates and turn them into militants (so far 2000 released inmates have joined Al Qaida world-wide). Only a few have been captured in Afghanistan and on American soil. So far - sleeping cells!

10. Reading, writing, arithmetic and research through the American educational system, mosques and student centers (now 1500) should be sprinkled with dislike of Jews, evangelical Christians and democracy. There are 300 exclusively Muslim schools with loyalty to the Quran, not the U.S. Constitution.

11. Provide very sizeable monetary Muslim grants to colleges and universities in America to establish "Centers for Islamic studies" with Muslim directors to promote Islam in higher education institutions.

12. Let the entire world know through propaganda, speeches, seminars, local and national media that terrorists have hijacked Islam, not the truth, which is Islam hijacked the terrorists. Furthermore in January of 2002, Saudi Arabia's Embassy in Washington mailed 4500 packets of the Quran, videos, promoting Islam to America's high schools--free. They would never allow us to reciprocate.

13. Appeal to the historically compassionate and sensitive Americans for sympathy and tolerance towards the Muslims in America who are portrayed as mainly immigrants from oppressed countries.

14. Nullify America's sense of security by manipulating the intelligence community with misinformation. Periodically terrorize Americans of impending attacks on bridges, tunnels, water supplies, airports, apartment buildings and malls. (We have experienced this too often since 9-11.)

15. Form riots and demonstrations in the prison system demanding Islamic Sharia as the way of life, not American's justice system.

16. Open numerous charities throughout the U.S. but use the funds to support Islamic terrorism with American dollars.

17. Raise interest in Islam on America's campuses by insisting that freshman take at least one course on Islam. Be sure that the writer is a bonafide American, Christian, scholarly and able to cover up the violence in the Quran and express the peaceful, spiritual and religious aspect only.

18. Unify the numerous Muslim lobbies in Washington, mosques, Islamic student centers, educational organizations, magazines and papers by internet and an annual convention to coordinate plans, propagate the faith and engender news in the media of their visibility.

19. Send intimidating messages and messengers to the outspoken individuals who are critical of Islam and seek to eliminate them by hook or crook.

20. Applaud Muslims as loyal citizens of the US by spotlighting their voting record as the highest percentage of all minority and ethic groups in America.

Financial Crisis Sparks Wave of Internet Anti-Semitism

In the wake of the collapse of major investment banks and the government's proposed bailout, anti-Semites are posting hundreds of anti-Jewish statements on financial Internet discussion groups.

These posts promote anti-Semitic stereotypes and conspiracy theories that allege Jewish control of the U.S. economy, banking and the government and blame Jews for the country's financial turmoil. Some posts have gone so far as to resurrect Nazi-era propaganda with threads such as, "The Jewish Problem...They need to be stopped.." or comments such as, "The Final Solution 2??"

Anti-Semitic posts regarding Lehman Brothers, American International Group (AIG) and other companies began appearing in mid-September 2008, on the Yahoo! Finance group and other financial message boards as these companies' financial difficulties received increasing media attention.

Some Web sites hosting finance boards have been quick to remove offensive statements. In addition, numerous members of the finance groups themselves have spoken out against the anti-Semitism and bigotry.

On the Yahoo! Finance group posters have asserted the stereotype of Jewish greed to blame Jews for the collapse of the financial market and for harming the country.

In these posts, Jews are depicted as purposely allowing the financial market to crash so they could benefit financially while non-Jews suffer.

"Uswarcriminals" commented, "It's difficult, if not impossible, for one honest investor to neutralize the efforts of thousands of Jewish swindlers." Following the same theme, "Zimmyzee" wrote, "They've infiltrated Wall Street and Government and have ruined our country." "Hoghedge25" commented, "What is a GS Jew? Goldman Sachs? Jews are greedy, rotten slimeballs." "Liffaga" added, "They run Wall Street so they should be to blame. There is at my count roughly 1500 of them that should be in the penitentiary. Not a single one will suffer." "Horizon_blue" commented about Jews, "They love money nothing else, no faith or religion can be so heartless to their victims."

A series of statements that are part of the YouTube video, "We the People" blamed Jews for "enslaving" non-Jews to serve their own interests and greed. The video stated, "… the same Jewish bankers have been robbing us in this same manner for nearly an entire century now. And we continue to allow them to. Like the willing and loyal slaves that we all are."

Despite these efforts, the anti-Semitic remarks keep appearing at an alarming rate. Most of the anti-Semitic comments have been posted on Yahoo! Finance groups but similar messages have also appeared on other sites that deal with finance.

In addition, anti-Semites have begun to post videos on Web sites like YouTube, which claim that the Jews are exploiting the current economic crisis as part of greater conspiracy to control the country and to harm non-Jews.

Numerous posts have scapegoated the Jews for causing the economic crisis and have claimed that Jews purposely cause crises in order to benefit themselves.

These posts, as well as videos on YouTube, depict Jews as evil plotters whose only goal is to harm others by lying, cheating, and manipulating others.

Some examples include:

In a thread on Yahoo! Finance group that blames the Jews for the current financial crisis as well as the financial market's problems after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, "Richlynchjunior" wrote, "Jews are behind the bubbles which started from the creation of all these new speculative hybrid financial instruments".

In another thread on Yahoo!, "Farmerangels" commented, "jews [sic] do not pay for their sins. they [sic] only glorify their sins as they bask in their keen ability to lie, get others to kill and maim for them, and partner with the psychopath gentiles...."

On AOL Money and Finance pages, "Youngmike11" pitted Jews against the rest of the population by saying, "jews helping jews when do we Amaricans [sic] stand up?

On Raging Bull, a financial blog, "jacknorthernest" commented, "Alas there is nothing we can do. It is the Jews, the Jews I tell you...."

A video on YouTube entitled "The Court Jewsters" displayed articles and pictures of failing banks and companies while repeatedly depicting Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan, as well as other Jews with the implication that they have led America into this crisis.

We've just been witness to the many (19, I think!) YouTube suspensions of the Stormfront Jew hater Scott Roberts. Posing as the "harbinger of truth", Roberts was just another low-life antisemite - an internet bully with a chip on his shoulder the size of a plank.

After his latest suspension, Roberts seemed to drop off the YouTube radar, untill he re-emerged a few days ago as the "19th Channel". But a lot of his old video excretions haven't gone away. A gang of Roberts disciples have been re-uploading his antisemitic propaganda to their own channels, as well as a new effort to silence those who would dare speak up in protest against the lies and myths they are dedicated to spreading.

This new tactic - called spam-flagging - is being spearheaded by several ex-YouTubers as a form of revenge against their perceived enemies, those with whom they don't agree with politically or otherwise. A few of us, including myself, are included in their hit list, and as of Friday, they have claimed the account of a friend, "ZionistNaziHunter". The websites that lead that charge are:

These terrorists are claiming constitutional protection to advocate killing Americans, Israelis, and Jews in particular. They're angry, and are trying to strike back at the people who flag their terrorist videos. They abuse the YouTube reporting system, telling the mindless wanabe cyber-bullies to lie and cheat:

"Flag videos For "Violent or Repulsive Content: shocking or disgusting content, adults fighting, physical attack, minors fighting, animal abuse. Sexual Content: suggestive, but without nudity, other sexual content. Hateful or Abusive Content: promotes hatred or violence, bullying threat, and intimidation, foul languages, personal attack against other You Tube users". If you get three of his videos remove for these violations his account will be suspended. Target the top 3 videos, or all of them."

Whether any of us have material on our channel that violates TOS or not matters not to the antisemites. They are cyber-bullies and cyber-jihadists who are dedicated to spreading lies and hate, and silencing those who would oppose them. How many of us have experienced going toe-to-toe with a nazi like Scott Roberts, only to be blocked by him a few minutes later? It's a common tactic with these people. When we post real history and truth, they cut us off, because they're not interested in actual facts - real truth just gets in the way of their conspiracy theory fantasy world they have created for themselves.

We Jews are their main target, but others have suffered account losses at their hands as well. Our little spam-jihadies seem to favor Wordpress, probably because the hate speech rules are lax. Emails to Wordpress have not yet been replied to, so my guess is they're not interested at the moment in monitoring the terrorists, who are using Wordpress to attack other blog and video sites.
